Thank you for that Will.  I'm afraid I don't recognize these names and dates. Afraid it isn't for my family.  But will keep digging.

I don't seem to have any info on either one of these wills/deaths - however, it is very possible I have missed something - something to look into.
Thanks again,

Catherine

I just checked my records and found an entry in the 1871 Census
Cwm cewydd, Parish Llanymawddwy, Penybryn
Elizabeth Evans B. abt. 1791, 80 b. Llanymawddwy, Widow
Jane Jones           "        1780, 91               "                  "       of Ag. Lab.
Mary Miles, Head     "     1785, 86               "                  "     Formerly wool
                                                                                                   weaver
I had put "all widows and sisters" - don't know how accurate that is but very interesting.

Hi David
Thank you so much for that info. I did send for a will for Robert Griffith and am hoping it will shed more light on my research. My 3x grandfather was Evan Richards so maybe there is a connection. I do have a Mary Griffith dau. of Mary Richard & Griffith Jones b. 1753, d. 1834-1844 marying a Robert Griffith. I also have a Mary Griffith b. 1783 dau. of Richard & Jane Griffith.
Again, thank you

Hi Sorry to but in BUT I have just learnt that a Jane Griffiths died at Peny Bryn in 1813, Mary Griffith in 1840 and a Robert Griffiths in 1845. They are perhaps some of my family - the Richard & Jane Griffiths family.
Can you tell me where there are other Peny Bryn's in the C. of Merionethshire?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Catherine

Hi Brigau

I got going through my records and found some more info which might shed some light on them. I have an Indenture dated March 12, 1860 which mentions Richard Griffith of Dolgelly & Jane Griffith widow, same place & Evan Jones of Dolgelly wheelwright - trustee for Jane intended marriage soon.  I also realized that the younger Richard Griffith b. 1801 could not have married Jane Lewis in 1816 as he would have been only 15 years old.

This puts a different light on Richard Griffith & Jane. Any help will be most appreciated.
Thank you,  Catherine

Thanks Brigau

I did have that baptism. If you ever run across a death date for Richard Griffith or his wife Jane, I would be so, so happy. I have a date of 1827 at TroedyRhiw but understand now that is wrong as the wife is listed as Blanche.  I think there is a tie to TroedyRhiw but don't know exactly what yet.
I also found a date of 1804 for a Jane Griffith (pauper) age 44, the age is right on but if she was a pauper that means Richard must be dead also.
I have their last child Richard being born 1801 Aug. 9 so that doesn't make sense.
Many thanks again for your help and interest.

Hi Brigau

Thank you so much for that info. I didn't think the earlier marriage could be correct as the 1st birth I have found is in 1816.
Thanks again,

Catherine
