My husband has a Francis "Peanuts" Huber.  Peanuts is even on his marriage certificate.  He was born in 1802 in Germany and Died there in 1874.  We have never been able to figure that one out.

Could he be related to Charles Schultz  ?

Couple of minor misdemeanors for a Thomas Shoebridge in the Kent area right time frame, hard to be sure its your Thomas though. Perhaps he just wanted a new start.
Interesting one..
12 Dec 1854 South East Gazette
FELONY"In Oct last a piece of timber was stolen from Mr Noakes at Brenchley.Suspicion was attached to two men named Henry Diprose and Thomas Shoebridge, hawkers at Yalding"
"Shoebridge was fully committed to trial but admitted to bail"
1855 newspaper had both aquitted.
Cathy
I think maybe the right one.  Henry Diprose could be father in law or most likely brother in law.

Odd things happen with this family history lark.  While looking at a totally different family and a totally different time frame  Henry Diprose (Dipperowes) turns up again. Married to Ann Pattenden 1699 in Kent

Hi and thanks Cath. Yes, I would say that is them. It would seem that Thomas Shoebridge and Thomas Hope are the same person.  I have since found Hannah Hope in 1911. Can't find a death entry for Hannah Hope or Shoebridge

http://roy1939.tribalpages.com...........Hannah Diprose 1827- ? b. Yalding, Kent married 1850 to Thomas Shoebridge, 1827-1892. Also b. Yalding. Two daughters, Harriett Shoebridge b.1850 Yalding and Louisa Ellen Shoebridge b. 1868 Clapham, Surrey, who seems to disappear. Harriett married 1874 Robert Cheeseman and produced, Fred 1874, William 1877, Lily Louisa 1879, Charles 1882, Henry 1884, Violet 1886, Daisy 1888, Edith 1889.  After 1871 I don't find Thomas or Hannah in census, but following up on the children (with difficulty) I find Edith in Sussex 1901 granddaughhter of Hannah Hope  ? widow. Thomas Shoebridge died 1892 as far as I can see and no marriage of Hannah to any Hope.  To add further confusion Louisa Ellen Shoebridge turns up there as Louisa Hope and another child for Harriett and Robert.  Did they just abandon the name Shoebridge ?

I found the site in 2007 and was a regular in the chat room. As my tree grew I didn't use it so often. Now I only use it for brickwalls.  Mainly searching England & Wales. I have not found any Scottish or Irish ancestors. I do have a couple of lines untouched as yet. Hugenots and Walloons. Champelovier from France but I can't find the link across the channel.  Du Soleil from Belgium too. One day I might make the effort. John Champelovier may or may nor have been born in England about 1740. Jean Du Soleil was born in England 1718.  One day..........
