I am just looking at the record and would say that it is definitely written as Harringford but the person could have written it incorrectly.

I think you are correct with the name of the street because your version does exist and the Burial notice street, doesnt.

I am going to look it up now.  Sleep tight.  Susan

Sorry, I meant the certificate I have ordered for William Joseph Taylor.

The one I have for William Leonard Taylor has to be my grandfather.  There were no other William Leonards around at the time......Susan

No, I had no luck with the address either.  I also found a site tht told me that the Archway was a General Hospital and not a Tuberculosis one.    I still think William Leonard Taylor must have been in there for a while because on his burial they gave the Archway as his abode.   Normally I think they give their home address.

I have had no luck confirming the return of William L or William J from Canada but if I can manage to eventually get the right Death Certificate, I think I will have to be happy with that.  My only problem will be is if it is someone apart from family who reg. the death.   Hoping for an occupation also.

all the best, Susan (you are up late!)

I did pay to get the address on the Death Cert I ordered.  It usually takes about two weeks to get to Sydney.   I also paid for the deceasedonline.

William Joseph Taylor was 146 Harringford Road, Islington, which I couldnt find on google.

William Leonard Taylor was the Archway Hospital.

Just about to check out the link you sent through to Abney Cem.   Thanks again, Susan

I ordered a William J who died in Islington in 1841.  I did not put a check point in though.  I thought I would just go through them one at a time.

I have found the burial of William Leonard Taylor in Islington Cemetery 7 Dec 1834.   He did in the Archway Hospital with tuberculosis.   Would that have been a hospital that dealt with tuberculosis do you think?   As he is listed as no occupation, I wonder how long he had been in hospital.

Where is Abney?

I found one burial on deceasedonline...William Joseph Taylor 23 Aug 1941 St.Pancras Cem.Camden. His last address was given as 146 Harringford Road Islington but I cant find it on Google.

I really appreciate you help.   Susan

Many thanks Claire for looking up that info.   Yes I have been through the ones on Ancestry but trouble is they just dont give enough info.   He was a carpenter by trade when he went to Canada and he is on the 1906 Saskatchewan Canada Census and there I lose him.  They dont give a trade on the 1906 census.   He emmigrated in 1905.   The search goes on but thanks again for your help.   Susan

Yes, we are thinking along those lines that perhaps the mother died in Canada and the dad came home. I have ordered a death certificate for a William J Taylor dying in Islington.  There seems to be four possibilities which I will have to bite the bullet and pay for the certificates until I find the right one. So hard if he travelled as just William Taylor.

Thank you so much for all your help.   Susan

Sorry, yes it did say that William Joseph was the father of William Leonard but with Taylor as a surname I wasnt convinced totally.   BUT you have hit the nail on the head.....so thank SOOOOOOOOO much.
Angelina married a Plume and then took off to Canada following their marriage.   The whole Taylor clan followed in about 1905.   I did know that Angeline came home but I didnt check to what address she came to.   Sounds pretty convincing that she came back to the same road.    Going to look into tht but thank you so much.   Sometimes it needs another pair of eyes to see something overlooked.

I have to find William Joseph Taylor returning to the uk and it will be confirmed.  My dad would have been 20 when his father died and he didnt even know......

I am just gobsmacked....thank you again.....Susan

Can anyone help me please.  I live in Oz.  I have been trying to find what happened to my grandfather(he never knew his son, my father). The story my grandmother told was absolutely zilch.  My father died at the age of 80 never have known what happened to his father.   I have ordered many death certificates etc to no avail but Ancestry suddenly have come up up with one that could be him.  I received it today:

Registration Dist.  Islington  - Upper Holloway
William Leonard Taylor
Died: 3 Dec 1934 at the Archway Hospital
47 yrs of age
of 144 New North Road, Islington
No occupation
Cause of death: Pulmonary Tuberculosis (no P.M)
Witness: W.J. Taylor of same address

Now the age is spot on, he did originally come from Islington and his father was William Joseph Taylor.
I have looked at the National Archives but they have no patient info.

William Joseph Taylor and his family emmigrated to Canada in 1905 but my grandfather returned and married my nan in 1913.  By the time my Dad was born in Oct, 1914, his father had left.  Having read this death certificate, I now see, if this is him, his father must have come back to Islington at some stage.

Can anyone suggest how I can confirm if this is my grandfather please?

Any assistance much appreciated.   Susan
