Thanks very much for your quick reply.

 I have this certificate already it is for 1896 not 1897  and  it has father names  Albert John and mother Elizabeth, however on Charles marriage certificate it says  father Robert Lovett so  I am assuming this is correct name. Unless she married a second time to a brother?
 
I think I may have to  send for the other elder brothers birth certificate as iot is only two years apart  to  see if I can get any more details of the parents at that time.

I am trying to  trace the birth of Charles Lovett  and  confirm his parents names.
 He  was always supposed to  be born in Shincliffe  Kent . I believe his father may be Robert Lovett.
 Robert was in the Army in 1891 in AS corps , born Portsea.
Robert and wife  Elizabeth  Mary appear in 1901 census in Colewort Barracks Portsmouth.
They have a son albert William  Albert  who is 6 years old. and two daughters . All efforts to find Charles birth record and his parents marriage have failed.

I am looking for the correct surname of Henry Hargreaves wife, I am unable to  read it clearly on their sons birth certificate.
I have been able to locate the family on the 1841 census in Wrose, Idle ,where she is named Betty.
Henry Hargreaves and Betsy or Betty Catly or Catty, (I believe she was named Elizabeth)
 born c 1811 and son was Jonathan Hargreaves born 21 November 1839 registered Idle.

Thank you for all your hard work.
 I am sorry if I missled folk with the name James Rhodes.
I does look likely this latest family is the right one, I will see what more I can locate but I did not pick them up on my searches so far.

I have only been doing this for a few months and now have got beyond most of the on line information , so still learning.

I have found every one on the forum so helpful.

Thanks for your help. I thought she was born in 1821 in Barwick in Ellnet but
I am not sure the marriage to  James Rhodes is the correct one now as it is in the Tadcaster area and Richard Walker was from Leeds I think. It was the only one I found on the Yorkshire BMD page.

 Since then I  managed to locate a Maria Brown on the 1841 census with  the correct fathers name Issac as per marriage certificate to James Rhodes but that Maria is only 16 and on the marriage certificate she is 21 in 1841, so who knows which is right!

I have located another Brown /Rhodes marriage  in so need to  check more years to see if there is one near to  Leeds so I can check age and birth area before I ask you to  search further for me.

I am trying to  locate the marriage of Richard Walker  a joiner to  Maria Rhodes nee Brown (this first marriage to a James Rhodes 1841 I believe ). I am not sure when James died.

Richard is noted  as father on Mary Eliza  Walker birth certificate in 1855 , but by her marriage in 1873 he is noted as deceased . The were living at 10 Cross Court Briggate Leeds  in 1855.
I have not been able to  locate the family on the 1951 census but as I don't know where Richard was born or when the marriage took place.

 Any help gratefully received.
