Thanks for that, I can't find a service record for William (yet) but I will keep searching.

Hello there,

yes...husband William Londesborough Ellerker and two children died on the 8th May 1941 in Hull but I can't find any trace of Olive on the 39 register or afterwards. Do you have any idea what happened to her?

Long shot but are you still looking for Wishers?

Do you have anything on Olive M Wisher, married William Londesborough Ellerker in 1929 (Hull)

Thanks! I saw that but couldn't seem to contact the tree owner?

I've inherited a box of photos and one seems to be superfluous.
It shows Rachel Lucy Fowler (b1872 d1953) who married a John Henry Willans.

They had two children, Ray (a girl!) and Henry and moved to Plaistow where John was a plumber (possibly on ships?)

If she fits into your family tree do let me know! It's quite an unusual surname (willans)

Wow! :o

I'm in awe. I am new to Irish records which is ridiculous as I spend so much time on other people's archives but for years I was put off 'digging' as my father (now deceased) called it.
I'm going to have a browse through the links and will come back, so please don't think I'm ignoring.
Gosh! You lot are good!

I am having no joy in finding parents for Teresa McConville, who married Joseph Ryan in approx 1891 (guessing as their first child Christina was born in 1892) I can't even find their dates of birth.
I asked on another forum and was told 'don't bother, all the Irish records were destroyed'

Am I wasting my time? Getting frustrated now. *grump*

Christina was born in December 1892 and possibly had a sister Alice, born in 1898

Appreciate any help at all.

Thank you again. So wonderful to have the detail...

I have since found my Grandfather (also illegitimate) on a census, living with George, Florrie the Scotts and Mrs Little.

His birth parents only asked for him back when he turned working age. :(
