Thanks my Jabez was born approx 1845 in Tipton Staffordshire, his father was William. He later married Selina Bradley in West bromwich 1867. they had at least 7 children ,Jane Thomas Selina Lizzie Eliza Jabez and my gt grandfather Timothy. They moved around at lot having kids in Staffordshire, Sheffield and Lancashire. Jabez is not listed on the 1881 census for Lancs where they lived at the time although the rest of family are. He is on the 1901 with Selina but name is misspelt HULL. more confusion his birthplace on this is given as Tipton

I have a Jabez HALL from Tipton and a Lillian WIGLEY born Ashton under lyne.
I have been told Jabez could have been Gypsy,Jewish,or Methodist. He did marry a Selina BRADSHAW which I beleive the name SELINA has Methodist connections BYE

Hi all you fellow researchers. Does anyone have Shawcross in Gorton, Openshaw and surrounding areas. I am back to ggg grandfather William Shawcross born 1818 in Gorton.He was married to Eliza WHIATT. His son Samual born 1845 married Elizabeth YEARSLEY. Samuals son Arthur born 1877, was married to Lillian WIGLEY, who gave birth to my grandma May in 1915, she married John Henry HALL born 1912
