Maybe if you contact the family history department at Liverpool Central Library, they may be able to help you.  recoffice.central.library@liverpool.gov.uk

I telephoned Manchester today as my Grandmother came from Chorlton. They told me that I could request a father check and if it is wrong they would refund me. This is a great help when asking for certificates. Thought I would share this with you as it will save you money. They won't do it over the phone, you have to put it in writing.

I thought I best let you guys know where I am up to. I went back to the register office the deals with the hospital that my grandfather died in. They asked me to put it in writing and give the information I have. The thing that is going to do it for me is his last address. I asked for a check on a few William Owen/s, at Llangefni register office, all negative, but she did say she found a Willie Owens, so I was looking for the wrong name, shows how much certificates can be wrong. The marriage cert says William Owen. Why can't peeps be happy with one name? Never mind, with a little determination, it shows what you can achieve. I want to thank you guys for the help and advice you put my way.

Lancashire / Help With Tracing A Death-Owen/s COMPLETED

Need the help of the experts on this one. I am trying to find the birth and death of my grandfather William Owen/s. The birth is the more difficult one, you wouldn't believe how common this name is in Wales where he was born. So i have opted for the death search instead. I am constantly hitting a brickwall I don't think I am meant to find him. Right this is what I know. I know he passed away in Whiston hospital. This I checked up on through the hospital and their records office in Prescot. I gave them a rough year and his last address they told me it was registered in Liverpool. I couldn't get an exact date from them, is there any way round this? I am not sure of exact dates of his birth or his death. The only concrete thing I have is his marriage certificate, he married Hilda Naomi Lewis March 2nd 1935. There are many William Owen/s listed in Liverpool under deaths, I don't want to send for any certificates in case it is the wrong one. Someone please help as I am going crackers. Thanx Lynn

Lancashire / Stuart Barnett Anderson COMPLETED
« on: Thursday 13 April 06 22:47 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have Stuart Barnett Anderson in their family tree? My mum and her brother had a step parent adoption. I have found their original birth entries and sent for their certificates. They are both registered under Anderson. While growing up, they believed their original name was Barnett-Anderson, double barrelled. This is not the case and the Barnett is a middle name. I have traced one Stuart Barnett Anderson to Blackburn, born in April-June quarter 1899. It is a new finding and one that I am still following up, so if anyone has this name, you know the script, drop me an e-mail or a message. Thanx peeps, Lynn

Lancashire / Re: Lewis/ Rimmer family

I have found Hilda's birth registered in 1912 October-December quarter. Hilda N Lewis, mother's maiden name Rimmer, Chorlton. The 'N' is for Naomi.  I will send for the marriage certificate just to make sure, but I am certain it is the right parents. It will be back to the drawing board for the birth of John Thomas Lewis am afraid. Thanx Dotty and Rambler for the help, which is very much appreciated as I am pretty new to all this searching.
