Thank you for this information.   I can now join the dots.   "Alice" was the name recorded in probate documents for 1923.

Cornwall / Ada Harris Rickard 1892 to 1895
« on: Saturday 07 July 12 04:38 BST (UK)  »
Greetings
Ada was born in the December quarter 1892 in the St. Columb Registration District.   Her mother’s maiden name was Harris.   Ada Harris died in 1895 and was subsequently buried on 1 May 1895 at St. Columb Major Cornwall.   In the burial record she is identified as being 2 years of age and a resident of Columb Major.

For one reason or another I am not able to identify her parents and her date of birth.   I was wondering if someone had that magic wand please.  ;D

Greetings

William is believed to have been born at St. Mawgan around 1862.   I have over 20 Williams in my data base for the years 1850 to 1870.    :-[ Either I am searching in the wrong haystack or suffering from myopia but his is a puzzle.   Margaret's family details look good value.  Thank you.

Greetings and Thank You
It looks like Priscilla Coombs Ramsay from Stoke Damerel is the right one.   Unfortunately my original posting was on behalf of a distant cousin who did not have any other information.   Thank you for your detective work.   I can work from her on gathering additonal data.

Thank you KGarrad
I regret that I did not have a copy of the marriage certificate when I posted the question.   The details were referred to me by a distant cousin.   In my searches I made the assumption that Margaret was younger than her husband William and hence missed the erlier years for searching.

Seasons Greetings  :)

Priscilla Rickard is believed to have been born at devonport about 1838.   She died in April 1923 at St. Columb Minor Cornwall.   I am unsure as to whether she married into the Rickard family or was a spinster.   A search of birth records around 1838 and census records have failed to identify her existence and her family.

Any assistance would be appreciated.  ;)

Seasons Greetings  :)

William Rickard and Margaret Old married at St. Mawgan on 31 March 1883.   Both are believed to have been born at St. Mawgan yet trying to trace a birth, parents and census details have proved elusive.   If anyone received a magic wand for Christmas, may I please have a short lend.

Cornwall / Re: Catherine RICKARD b circa 1863 maybe St. Enoder

Greetings Chris

Thank you again for this information.   One last question.   Was Catherine christened as a "Rickard" or "Moffat" on the same day as her brother William in 1868?    Mahala's grand daughter in the US has identified her as a first born "Moffat".    ;)

PS   After this question, you can put this request in the completed basket.

Greetings Kris and Thank you for the prompt reply.    I was contacted by a very distant relative who lives near Newquay.   He is a descendant of Catherine and William Cocking.   I have the details of their children.   If you have a date of birth and place for William and date of marriage and place, that should solve this issue for both of us.
