I would suggest that the the word being queried 2 posts ago is Commission. Then the entry would read,

Commission Agent Coat

Possibly a Commission Agent for the sale of Coats?

Louisa Maud

The problems seem to be on the east Coast main line and the line from Sheffield to London.

This might sound a bit mad but if your grand daughter got a train to Tamworth (either direct or change at Derby) that puts her onto the West Coast Main Line where she could get a train down to London Euston. The trains there are running normally as far as I can see.

The 1856 (this train is already running late) with change at Derby for Tamworth arr 2003  then London train at 20:17 arr London Euston at 22:37. Or Sheffield direct to Tamworth at 19:56  arrive 20:48 then 2058 direct to London Euston at 23:16.

The second option is the cheapest but usually other operators accept the tickets of those stranded.

Then Tamworth to London Euston dep 20:58 arr 23:16

I can’t remember howto send a personal message anyone seeing this could you please send LM a personal message pointing her to this post. Many thanks

Northamptonshire / Re: Northamptonshire Burial or Cremation?

I see from a tree on Ancestry which shows Herbert’s death certificate that his daughter lived in Roade.  Unfortunately she only gave her initials when registering her father’s death. Assuming that Herbert had been married where was his wife buried? Perhaps he was buried with her? Another thought where are his parents buried maybe he was buried with them? Or if the daughter has since died where is she buried?

I hope your Grandson’s treatment continues to go well well RTL. I’ll remember him I’m my prayers.

I remember a little girl I knew when I was working, she was always so happy throughout all her treatment. Her family will never know the courage that their little girl has given to me.

Ringing the bell

My experience is that you get to ring it when different things finish. Following treatment for breast cancer
I rang the bell when my radiotherapy finished in 2020.
I declined to ring the bell when my Zolendronate acid treatment finished earlier this year.

They thought I was a bit peculiar but I couldn’t see the point when I was still suffering from the very painful side effects of the radiotherapy in 2020. I said I’d ring the bell when they’d sorted me out!

Arthur’s death is reported in both the Sheffield Evening and Daily Telegraphs. I don’t think the local paper the Barnsley Chronicle is on line. They were living in May Terrace Dodworth Road Barnsley.
