What if the George Henry buried in Johns plot, wasn’t their son?

It seems George Henry Rowding, who was born to John and Eliza, was taken in by Johns Brother Charles and Caroline as a tot, when Eliza and his younger brother John Frederick both died.
It seems like his name was then changed from George to John.
The other George Henry who I’ve been talking about, seems to the one then living with John and Jane,he’s not the same person.
The only thing that looks a bit odd on the 1881census,is his age,it says he’s 6,but he would have been older.

Thanks again guys,
When John Rowding lost both his wife and youngest son, more or less the same time,he would have been left to look after George Henry, and with him working long shifts in the steel mill, wouldn’t have been able to look after him.
I was wondering if he gave him up for adoption,or just asked one of the family, and it looks like his brother took George on.
I wonder if George’s adoptive dad started calling him John?

The George Henry who I already know about has his own grave, and is buried with Sarah Ann his wife and son Charles Frederick who died in the First World War.
There is another George Henry buried in Johns plot,he’s the one who died when he was 20.
It’s interesting to find out the young girl buried with them was Johns niece, thanks for that info.

Hi again,
The George Henry who died when he was 24,is the person I’m thinking was born to John and Jane, but not sure.

Thanks for the info guys,
I didn’t have that marriage,so you’ve done me a big favour!
Just as a matter of interest,Johns son,George Henry in all censuses,is John Henry on his tombstone,as I’ve recently found out.
The other George Henry doesn’t make sense, did John and Jane have him?

Thanks guys,
But I already have that info.......I was more interested in whether he married again after he lost Eliza and his son John Francis.
He may have been living with a Jane......he still had his first son George Henry, but in his grave plot there seems to be another George Henry.

Hi again everyone,
I’d like some help if it’s possible, regarding a John Rawding who died aged 56,and was buried in burngreave cemetery.
I know he was married to Eliza Ann,who died aged 23,in 1873,and that she is buried in the same plot.
What I’d like to find out is something about the others in the plot,ie;John F Rowding who died aged 2,1873,George Henry Rawding who died aged 20 in 1894.
I believe they were both his sons.
And lastly,Ann Briley who was the daughter of Jon Briley, who was 6 when she died in 1888.
I haven’t found Johns second marriage, but on a census I’ve seen, think it may have been Jane.
Thanks Phil.
