Thanks all. I now have an address to write to for the wood turner, and have e mailed the Society of genealogists in Stratford

The Papers past seem all to be one big family, It's possible I just need a little more to know for sure, But hopefully I'm on the right track.

I am looking for any information on this family- They raised our grandfather Lionel from about 1919.
All I know is they were originally Polish, Catholic. Possibly near Stratford, (That is the last place I knew the kids were with the birth mother)
John and Mischeka (spelling wrong maybe), Son also John, Probably born around 1912 ish
They would have had a different surname as we were told they changed it to be more anglicised , and chose Friday as it was a Friday.
They took on a boy to help on the farm, similar age to their son John

It turns out My Mary Hurst is not the Mary Hurst Convict but Came from South Australia. Following Back all the Mary Hursts I could find there is a family with all the Missing names etc from Kent.
Thanks all

How would I find info on Henry Carter- Hatter and gentlemans outfitter, Buckingham palace rd, Kensington.

My Great grandfather was born in Family apartments above his fathers Business, Victoria station end of Buckingham palace road,1871.( Now a trading bank (old yellowed paper))
I think he was already well established in Business in 1868 the time of his marriage

I haven't found anything in a basic internet search so any idea's on where to look?
Any idea what the area would have been called in that time. I tried Middlesex directory?

Thanks
Sally
