Suffolk / Rachel Marston, born 1814 in Bungay
« on: Sunday 12 May 19 09:57 BST (UK)  »
Good morning.

I'm struggling to find any more records related to Rachel Marston, born at Bungay in 1814. She was baptised 23 August 1814 to Thomas Marston and Ann Aggs. She married George Smith at Great Yarmouth 14 August 1835 and I have them in 1841 living in Bungay, but unfortunately that's all I can find for them both.

Thank you :)

Hi guys,

I'm trying to locate the burial of Charles Marston. He was born in Bungay, Suffolk, England in 1823 and died in New York 18 June 1909.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Oh thank you both very much!

I didn't even consider the fact that they may have split because of the "away at sea" on the census.

I have found an Albert G Murrell & Alice Maude Stone marrying in Sep quarter 1946 in Norwich, they definitely didn't wait around, Mary Ann died 24th August!

Thank you both again

Norfolk / COMPLETED - THANK YOU! Albert George Murrell mystery
« on: Tuesday 23 April 19 12:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I'm having a bit(a lot ::)) of trouble with Albert George Murrell, born 29 Oct 1872 to George William Murrell and Rachel Anne Daynes. He married Mary Ann Wade 03 April 1893 in Norwich. I have found them together in 1901 in Norwich, Mary Ann is then alone in 1911 living in Great Yarmouth, with it stating that the head of household is away at sea, but then I have nothing for him.

The thing that confuses me is, Mary Ann remarries in 1927 to a James Sandell, she is then a widow in the 1939 register. On her death index, she is Mary Ann Murrell, and then on both her death return and burial entry she is "Mary Ann Murrell or Sandell, of 6 Morley Street, Norwich. Wife of Albert George Murrell, a Rivetter".

I'm assuming Albert may have been lost at sea, although I haven't found anything.

I hope that all makes sense  ::) ???

Thanks in advance :)

Hi everyone,

I have about 15 people who I believe to be buried at Bowling Cemetery, is there anywhere online that I can search their records? I read online that the council want £12 per search, which unfortunately would become a little pricy, and I can't visit as I live in Norwich.

Thank you :)

Norfolk / Re: Maria Landamore of Wroxham

Thank you all!

Interesting snippet from the Norfolk News, 14 October 1854

"I Matthew Custance, Wroxham, Norfolk hereby give notice that I will not be responsible for any Debt or Debts which may be incurred by my wife, Maria after this date, October 14th 1854"

And earlier similar notice, 7 February 1852 in the Norfolk News, which also adds "she having left me without my consent"

Wonder if she went back to using her maiden name.

Yorkslass

I didn't know this, thank you! I've tried searching for her under her maiden name and I can't find anything, the plot thickens!  ???

Thank you again

I'm planning a trip to the Record Office within the next few weeks (although not set in stone yet!) and I'm happy to look this up for you if you wish? I have a few Asylum records to look up myself and quite enjoy them so I'm more than happy to :)
