Occupation Interests / Music Hall Showman !
« on: Monday 29 December 14 23:05 GMT (UK)  »
Hello there,

I found an ancestor with an interesting occupation, most of my ancestors have been ag labs, so I was interested to find Samuel  Frank Johnson b 1861 Bucklebury, Berks, having travelled all over, to end up on the 1911 Census living in Southsea and being a Music Hall Showman and most of his numerous daughters were also Music Hall Artistes.

I have had a little search online using his name and occupation and area but havent found any further information.

I just wondered if anyone knew of somewhere in particular I could look to find out about what he may have been doing please.

Thanks

Markswife

Thank you, I wondered if it would indicate he was born and died after a few days or was stillborn?

Oh, how simple!  Except I went into one of the children and changed him to step father instead of father.    Thank you for pointing me in the right direction x

Hello,

I have George married to Eliza on Ancestry.
I have their children and also her children from her first marriage.
The problem is now all the children have George and Eliza as their parents.

Does anyone know how to remove George as the father of his step children please?

Thank you  :)

Young Betsy aged 17 in 1911 is a furrier in audenshaw, lancs.

I see that a furrier is someone who works in animal fur.  I know there were hat works near where she lived, so would she have been working at the hat factory perhaps? Any ideas gratefully received!

THanks
 :)
