Hello Dinamboyz

Sorry for the delay in replying I have been on holiday.  Your Great Grandmother was my father's Auntie Tilly.  Which daughter of Auntie Tilly's was your mother?  Hopefully I am coming to Llanidloes on November 3rd/4th perhaps we could meet to discuss our family connection.

Best wishes

Hello Alberbury

I need to make a visit to Shrewsbury to continue my search for James Staley Senior for MI and Will. I have already searched the following areas but there are plenty more in Shropshire!!

Bishops Castle, Clungunford, Ludlow, Petton, Pontesbury, Westbury, Worthen, Ratlinghope, Chirbury, Smethcote.

I will keep you updated if and when I find him.

Many thanks once again.

Best wishes

Hello Alberbury

Thank you very much for the details of the marriage of James and Margaret I had the date and place off Mark Georges Lydbury North website but had not yet checked it at the Archives, most kind of you to look them up for me.

I descend from James and Margaret's son William born 4 Apr 1797 in Lydbury North, he married Sarah Graty born 5 Mar 1805 in Kerry.   They married in Kerry, Montgomeryshire 2 Dec 1825.  All of their children were born in Kerry. Their daughter Eleanor Staley was my Gr Gr Grandmother born 20 Apr 1829 in Gwenthrew, Kerry she married Evan Tudor on 26 Sep 1847 all of their 13 children where also born in Kerry. That begins my Tudor line!!!

I am stuck for finding earlier Staley's until I find the birth of James Staley b circa 1770.

Many thanks once again Alberbury for your help and interest.

Best wishes

Hello Alberbury

Yes I think it is possible that this is James Staley Jnr I have seen it myself and wondered if they had a blessing in one Parish Church and married in the other.

James Staley Senior died in 1845 prior to 1851 Census so unfortunately I dont have a place of birth. His wife Margaret nee Corns died in Jul Qtr 1850 in Clun.

I am still trying to find the 'Staley's' that Victor suggested my have connections I have found where they died but not where they were born. Elenor died Bishops Castle, Martha died Norbury and Margaret Staley died Lydbury.  Family search site has changed since I last visited I preferred the old search index. Even Ancestry has changed so I am getting nowhere fast at present.

Thank you for your interest.
Best wishes

Hi Victor

Thank you for your interest.  I need to find their births and hopefully parents names because my Eleanor Staley (who I am named after) was born in 1829 in Kerry, Montgomeryshire and died in 1915. Her parents were William and Sarah Staley nee Graty (son of James Staley).  Martha I'm not sure of. but Margaret Staley is a strong possibility with James Staley having married Margaret Cornes again need to do more research.

I have heard back from Shropshire Archives and Trinity Hospital Clun do not have a record of James Staleys birth or place of birth even though he lived and died there, another dead end so to speak.

Many thanks for your help ~ Best wishes Shirley

Hi Sandra and JaneyClanuck

I thank you both for your clarification and continued help ~ much appreciated.

I dont know if Arthur Kemp was a 'convenient co-respondent' but it is known that Dorothy and Percy's three daughters were in an Orphanage on the 1911 Census, so Dorothy and Percy must have already separated but this was due to Percy's short comings, so it was a surprise that Percy petitioned for their divorce, albeit several years later.

Confirmation that Percy James Holley's birth was in the Jan Qtr 1878 Brentford Middlesex and he died in Ross, Herefordshire in Apr 1959 age 81.  I think his marriage to Jane Webb is a more than likely.

Many thanks once again for all your help ~ Best wishes Shirley
