« on: Friday 25 November 11 23:59 GMT (UK)  »
sorry this is way too late but i have found a relation
listed at
Curragh camp in 1861
My great great uncle
Private Joseph Birtwisle 6th Battalion military train Curragh Camp

I do know that Joseph was in her Majestys army at Chatham in 1855
married at Woolwich in 1863
and was not listed in England for the 1861 census

hope this adds another source to the list
kind regards

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Re: Dale & Stanier Family of Congleton/Astbury Cheshire
« on: Sunday 07 August 11 14:17 BST (UK)  »
hi there
sorry to but in.
I have just been doing look ups on this subject for a friend, and found what you have said to be correct. From family search ,Alice's parents were shown as Thomas and Martha which makes her Charlotte's sister and there is also a record of Judith's baptism giving just her mothers name as Alice which indicates she was a single woman
the 1841 census indicates a Thomas and Martha Dale living next door to Isaac and his family. I presume this to be Isaac;s  older brother,
Have you gone any further back with Thomas and Martha nee Johnson yet?
I only worked on this for an hour today so have not delved too deeply
kind regards

Staffordshire Lookup Requests / Re: tipton look up request 1841 HESSON
« on: Sunday 28 December 08 11:32 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Tati

From what I managed to get together last night from BMD and census online the one in Cumberland belionged to Anthony

Also it looked they all called one John which helps a lot <not> doesnt it?

This is not actually my family but my sons girlfriend and a favour.. But I also have Tipton roots   TURNER and Clark.. it was interesting to see a HEsson CLARKE marriage at Tipton...
Mary Elizabeth Turrner was born 1871 at Ocker Hill to John Turner who was originally from Shrewbury and Louise nee Clark daughter or Isaac CLARK and Elizabeth unklnown
Isaac and Elizabeth also had
Charles
Hannah
George

Mary Elizabeth ended up at Northwich in Cheshire (my great grandmother) with her uncle and for years I assumed wrongly  :( that her parents had died... not so they went on to have more children...

Thanks for your interest in my HESSON query I am still putting them together..

kind regards

Hi Tati
I think you have them there
i am working backwards from
Arthur James N Hesson born 1899 son of John HESSON b 1858/9 and Fanny nee JAMES
they can be found living with her parents Job and Eliza James in 1881 with a son Joseph at RG 11 /2849/ - /10 @ 45 Witton Lane West Bromwich

and at  1901 23 Lee street West Bromwich census ref RG 12 /2272/34/21
but as there were 2 Johns in the same area within a year it was difficult so decided which one. but I was thinking the two john were perhaps cousins and sons of John and William who were sons of ??

I will go back and check these out and many thanks for your quick replies,,, much quicker than mine as my disk drive had just jammed with a cd in it and crashed my pc.

Funny there were at Ocker Hill as that is where my Turners were later from and of course Clark

kind regards

« on: Saturday 27 December 08 16:30 GMT (UK)  »
has anybody any knowledge of a family called HESSON in the TIPTON area please.
have worked backwards to 1861 cant read the 1851 but an looking for a William and Mary HESSON in the Tipton area from 1841 onwards
I believe my link was a son of theirs John born 1858/9 but there is another John (H) Hesson born in 1859 this pair I believe to be cousins but cant as yet find any proof other than the felling that the fathers ?William and John were perhaps brothers.....

kind regards
