My grandmother, Julia, arrived in America in 1910. Her sister, Mary Agnes, also left for America around the same time and lived in the same city as my grand-parents. The problem is that the Irish (at least my Irish) who so enjoy speaking, speak very little about their personal history. I did not know about Mary Agnes until I began researching my ancestry. Unfortunately, there is no one left to ask about 2nd great-grandparents, where they lived, who their parents were, etcetera. I have very little information about anyone past my parents. Very frustrating. Doubly frustrating since my wife is researching her family and her family was at the Battle of Hastings!

Looking for information about my great-grandparents Jeremiah McCarthy and Anne O'Leary. The 1901 Census tells me that they and their kids were living in House 1.2, Derryleigh, Bealock, Co. Cork. Unfortunately, the trail stops there. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
