Hi,
Albert Whitney was married to a Edwina and their children were
Alice 1906c
Alec 1907c
Audrey 1908c
We think Albert and Edwina were born around 1880.
All their descendants live in the grimsby area.
Alice married John Thomas Hides and lived at Bentley street, cleethorpes until around 1996.
We have been searching since 10 this morning with no real joy at all for either the hides or the whitneys....i can see it being a long night!!
Thanks everyone

Please can someone put my husband out of his misery!
Hes only just started his family tree but cant seem to get into the late 1800s which i know is easier to trace relatives due to the easily available census's.
Anyway ....the name he is researching is ALBERT WHITNEY.
He thinks that he lived in raunds in the 1901 census, but isnt sure...if it is the right one his wife should be edwina.
He thinks the family were a big shoe makers in about that time so any details would be helpful.
Thank you

Lincolnshire / Hides and Whitney from lincs

Can anyone help me?
Although im doing fine with my own family lines i am trying to start my husband off with his own family.
All we know is that his dad, John edward kenneth hides was born in 1949 in grimsby.
His dads name was john thomas edward hides and was probably born around the 1920's.
His mum we think was called anne alice whitney born again around 1920s.
Ive searched for a marriage record without sucess and theres not alot of hides on familysearch.org for that time.
Can anyone please help me with his family.
Once we get back to the mid 1800's the census's will hopefuly help us but at the moment we cant even get off first block!

Thank you very much for that, can i ask where you found the mariage details for martha and henry marsh? I usually look on familysearch.org but it doesnt give the parents names which is very useful to have when your trying to find out who's who.Too many people were called the same names in those days...ive spent weeks trying to which child belonged to which parent.
Thanks again
