Buckinghamshire / MUNDAYS of Halton
« on: Thursday 20 July 06 10:51 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

If anyone has any research relating to the Munday family of Halton I would be keen to hear from you.

I am trying to find about more about Ann Munday b.abt.1817 Halton, married to Henry Garnett. I have their marriage certificate but no father is recorded. Witnesses at the wedding were Lucy Billington and Henry Norwood - both of whom I have found living in Halton in the 1841 census, however I can not figure out if these are any relation.

I have details from the IGI of several Munday families of Halton but can not find anything relating to my Ann.

Many thanks

Nikki

Travelling People / Tinkers Licence?
« on: Wednesday 19 July 06 17:11 BST (UK)  »
I have been told that my great x3 grandfather James Chapman from Buckinghamshire was "registered 'barstard' and had a tinkers licence". I have found him in the census' and by 1841 he was a labourer, settled and had a young family but I can not trace the birth of his eldest son, 1831 or his marriage with wife originally from Herts. I have searched records in both Herts and Bucks and my last resort is to see if there is any scope in what I have been told. How can I go about exploring this further?

Thanks

Buckinghamshire Lookup Requests / Chapman marriage search 1830ish
« on: Tuesday 18 July 06 13:03 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I am trying to find the marriage entry for James Chapman & Charlotte (formerly Law/Low/Saw). Charlotte came from Tring, Herts and James from Wendover. It is likely they were married around 1830 as they have a 9 year old son in the 1841 census. They were living in Wendover.

Kind Regards

Buckinghamshire / CHAPMAN/GARNETT Research & Related Surnames
« on: Tuesday 18 July 06 09:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I would be interested in hearing from anyone researching the following, or simply having briefly come across them in their tree:

Chapmans of Ellesborough/Wendover (main ancestors)
Garnetts of Ellesborough (main ancestors)

The Garnett family was large and married into the following local families:
Flitney/Cutler/Tooley/Wyatt/Jeffs/Stopps/Jefferies/Edmunds/Eggleton/Munday

I have lots of info to share!

Kind Regards

Nikki

Hi,

Not sure how much help this is to you but I have a Peggy Smith, b.1812, Ellesborough, in my tree who married a Thomas Eggleton - married on 28th Sept 1831.

Then in 1851 there was a John Eggleton, aged 17, b.Ellesborough living with Henry and Ann Garnett. He was their nephew - Henry being Peggy's brother.

Kind Regards

Hi,

Can any one help me locate the marriage record for Geroge Chapman and Emma Garnett, probably in Ellesborough, Bucks. George was born in 1842 in Wendover, son of James. Emma was born 1842 Ellesborough, daughter of Henry. The couple lived in Ellesborough all of their married life and so I believe they would have been married at St Peter & St Paul's church, Ellesb. They had their first child, Mary Ann in 1865.
In 1861 Emma was still living at home with her parents, in Ellesb., aged 17 and George was living at home in Wendover, aged 19.

Help tracking down a record for them would be much appreciated!!!

Hi,

I have a Mary Ann Chapman in my tree b.Ellesborough 1865. She married William Henry Harding in 1888, he was b.1865 Aston Clinton and died in 1898. they had sons William and Frederick. I believe William Henry Harding was son of William b.abt.1844 and Mary Ann. Is this any link to you?

Kind Regards

Worcestershire / Floden/Lane families 1800s Worcs.
« on: Tuesday 23 May 06 15:14 BST (UK)  »
I am searching for information on the Floden family. John Lane Floden, born about 1811 was a Clockmaker from Evesham, Worcs. He moved to Clerkenwell where he married Elizabeth Luckett. In 1841 a Mary Lane, aged 50, was living with him & Elizb. perhaps she was an Aunt?

Any info or advice on how to find out more would be grately received!

Thanks

Nikki
