Can anyone assist with the following please?
I realise extended families could have moved around a lot and these places are/were very near each other.
What appears to be the same family is recorded at the following addresses:
1. A baptism (birth 22 April 1848) 04 August 1848. Address: 1 Cow Lane, Shadwell.
2. A baptism (birth 07 March 1842) 06 September 1850. Address: 2 Angel Gardens, Shadwell.
3. A baptism (birth 22 January 1845) 06 September 1850. Address: 2 Angel Gardens, Shadwell.
4. Census 31 March 1851 Address: 8 Martins Buildings, Shadwell.
5. A birth 01 July 1851. Address: 8 Milk Yard, Shadwell.
6. A death 07 September 1851. Address: 8 Milk Yard, Shadwell.
7. A birth 10 November 1852. Address: 1 Cow Lane, Shadwell.
8. A baptism (birth 10 November 1852) 15 December 1852. Address: 1 Cow Lane, Shadwell.
Does anyone know if 8 Martins Buildings is in fact 8 Milk Yard? The 1851 census does not show a number 8 Milk Yard separately.
Regarding parish baptismal records. Does anyone know the procedure as it might have occurred at the time?
Q. I presumed that the parish recorded the baptism at the time it took place (I assumed the baptism took place in the parish church say, and that's where the record book was). If not, is there a way of establishing the date event was recorded rather than just the date of the event? Perhaps from the ’Entry’ and ‘ID’ numbers.
Q. Was the address given the ‘current’ one rather than where they were living when the child was born (or baptised)?
Q. Was the mother’s name given the ‘current’ one rather than the birth mother of the child?
