Hi Janice

Noticed your post whilst browsing. I can point you in the direction of where you may get some assistance to trace your ancestor. The local authority have an archive and they can be contacted if you go to the website www.scotsborders.gov.uk or you could try the Borders family History Society on www.bordersfhs.org.uk

« on: Thursday 25 June 09 23:42 BST (UK)  »
Hi Beannie

The main cemetery for Inverness is the Tomnahurich cemetery. The records are held at the Inverness Crematorium. The telephone number there is 01463 717849. There is also the Highland Council Genealogy Service if you have no luck at the crematorium. They can be contacted on 01463 220330 ext 9, or e-mail to genealogy[at][/blue]highland.gov.uk (Replace [at] with @)

Hope you get what you require.

Hi Ian

The local newspaper in Inverness runs a column titled 'Seeking the Past' to assist people who are trying to trace family history etc. The web address is www.inverness-courier.co.uk.
Perhaps an entry in the newspaper would help track your informants.

Hi TN

Received your PM, however I am unable to reply yet as rules state I must have at least three postings before I can do so. I will deal with this shortly. I am descended from Betsy Ann Robertson, born 09 Mar 1874, sister of Janet.  I have managed to get back to Duncans parents. Will provide details when returning PM.

Hi TN

I'm a newcomer to Rootschat. I picked up a link to your posting whilst 'Googling' Moirlanich.
I also have a link to Peter Robertson and have traced most of the occupants of Moirlanich between 1806 and the final occupant in 1968.
I intend to visit Moirlanich quite soon as well as various other places nearby which have family connections such as Methven churchyard.
