Im beginning to wonder if he was born in Newbridge on Wye. Radnor even though he has written it down on Census. I have written to Powys Archives to see whether they can help but just had an automated reply.
I have sent for his death certificate he died in 1928 I know this will not give me any information as to his mam but we will try. Obviously he has a mam but who she is is a mystery. Thanks for your help

It is a complete mystery isnt it. I have been through various census and indeed Powys Registry Office but have found nothing out. Evan seems just to appear on the 1901 census. I am baffled. Thanks for your help.

Hiya. Evan Watkins married May 17th 1898 to Annie Elizabeth Bird. Evan aged 25 batchelor. Annie aged 19 Spinster.
Both farm servants.
Evan residence Llwynllwyd Merthyr Cynog. Annie residence Bwllchydwyatt both places in merthyr cynog.
Father of Evan - Price Watkins Shoemaker.
Married soleminized at the Parish Church in the parish of Merthyr Cynog county of Brecon.
Married in the Parish Church according to the rites and ceremonies of the Established Church.
Witnesess David Wilson and Lucy Walters.
Banns published at Office. Thomas Phillips Curate.
I have found Evan Watkins on the 1911 Census - he is now living in St. Davids LLanfaes Brecon.
Newmarch Street.
Prior to that I have found him
on the 1901 Census. He is under Evan Walkins (mistake made on Census)
married to Annie and son William Roydon Watkins.(my grandfather) living at Bryngarn again St. Davids without entire Breconshire. I winder if Parish Records would help me but I havent a clue what to do I havent got access to them on my ancestry site.

Thank you everyone for helping me. I have queried Evan Watkins born in Builth 1870 with Powys Registrar and unfortunately it is not the Evan I am looking for.
I wish I had an incline as to his mothers name as I am stuck on my family tree. I know his dads name is definetly Price as I have it on Evan's marriage certificate. He was married in merthyr cynog. Well back to the drawing board.

Im trying to trace family of Evan Watkins (father Price Watkins shoemaker) born according to Census Newbridge on Wye Radnorshire. I have marriage certificate of Evan and wife but this does not help me as I am trying to find his mothers name. I cant find his Birth Certificate born about 1873. Is there anyone with any knowledge of Evan or Price Watkins. Thanks
