i really think that john james only moved to oswaldtwisle around the time he married as before then i believe he was living with the Parkinsons in 1871 - 60 Presston Lane Farnworth St Catherine

he was living at 28 Garden St Oswaldtwistle in January of 1890 for the birth of his son also John James Macauley

John James was living at 10 Swainson Street Oswaldtwistle in 1891.


this is what i am after....

according to his marriage certificate his father John was deceased when John James married in Oswaldtwistle.... and I know John James was born in Liverpool - but i have no other family information and searching doesnt seem easy

any suggestions?

according to the 1881 census

there is a sarah parkinson as head 59 Worsley Lancashire

with children
Martha u 35 Pendleton
Hannah u 27 Pendleton - cotton weaver
Lizzie u 23 Pendleton - cotton weaver
Margaret u 21 Pendleton - dress maker

at 47 L Seedley Rd Pendleton in Salford, Lancashire

they also had a school teacher living with them and a boarder too.

Perhaps there are other children out there who were married?



Charles Parkinson's wife was Louisa.  All I am certain about her is that she was born in Ireland - which COULD be a source of the McCauley name.

hummm.... not that this is necessarily going to help

but

i have an isabel henderson who married on the 9 July 1819 in Ecclesmachen to my David Cunningham. 

their son John C. Cunningham ( my gggg-grandfather) was  born on the 28 October 1821 in Linlithgow.  their other children were also born in Ecclesmachen or Dalmeny.

perhaps she is a connection?

Susan Campbell (Susannah?)   

according to her Australian death certificate she was born  in 1856 Derryland, Armagh, Ireland

She came out to Australia on the Gauntlet from London 4 October 1874 and arrived Maryborough Queensland on 1 January 1875.

She married  30 September 1876 in Maryborough and being illiterate made x on marriage certificate.  The marriage certificate states her parents as as George Camel and Mary Fox George was a farmer, and her brother was said to be hung for smuggling - but I have nothing to verify this!

Susan died 2 April 1930 at Bauple Queensland and was buried 21 April 1930 Tiaro Cemetery next to her husband Joseph Bates.

She is my gg-grandmother and I would be very keen to prove where and when she was born. 

Any help would be gratefully appreciated - as she has been my biggest unsolved relative for over 15years!!!
