You can apply for a copy of the birth entry from the General Records Office, if you quote the above details they normally only charge 4 EUROS - I've ordered lots of them and usually get them between 7 and 10 days later.
The attached link id the GRO's website if you need to print an application form

Hope it helps

Kildare / Poet of Narraghmore - James Conlan
« on: Wednesday 11 August 10 23:56 BST (UK)  »
Hi
Pretty new to all of this.........

After some help trying to find any information on James ( Jimmy) CONLAN  - see attached newspaper clipping - not sure which newspaper its from,  either the Leinster Leader or the Carlow Nationalist.
The Pat Conlan mentioned is my grandfather and I'm trying to find out how they were related.

Pretty sure that this is James on the 1901 census, even though he is listed as CONLON

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Kildare/Narraghmore/Lipstown_Lower/1434752/

by the 1911 census he has passed away.  From looking a the IGI index think me married Catherine CLEARY but cant find a record of their marriage only the birth of their children.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Yes one of the 7 children is my father.  He left ireland in  late 50's and as you say my uncle is quite deaf so its been difficult trying to gather information that will point me in the right direction.

Hi definitely sounds like my uncle, his parents (my grandparents) Patrick & Julia both lived until their 90's - decided to start tracing my ancestors last weekend - not sure where to start there are so many websites, books etc.  Have started with the 1911 census and am taking it from there.
