Oxfordshire / Look-up for Thomas MANSELL c.1730 & Elizabeth KEANE
« on: Monday 08 January 18 17:03 GMT (UK)  »
I would appreciate help to find more about (i.e. christenings & burials) Thomas Mansell & his wife Elizabeth Keane. They married in Cogges April 1755. Their children all baptised in Cogges: Ann 1756, Edward 1757, Ann 1759, Elizabeth 1762, John 1767, Edward 1777 (my 3xGGrandfather) and Robert 1780. Sourced from Ancestry Oxford bmd's on film.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much for your response.
I am unaware of any second name for George nor of any of his off-spring who were: George 1785-1867; William 1788-1799; Susanah 1790-1855; Ann 1793-1868; Jane 1799-1861. George 1785 is my direct ancestor; there have been a few 'George William's in the wider  Hamley family.
That is all the help I can think of at present.

Cornwall / HAMLEY

I am seeking the birth of George HAMLEY; he married Anne RUNDELL in Tavistock Devon 21  Aug 1784;  she was christened Anne RENDLE in the town Feb 1760 but there's no evidence of his baptism there. They were non-conformists.
I estimate his birth to be 1750-1765 possibly close to the Devon/Cornwall border.
Any help is gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

My Thomas was the son of Thomas & Rebecca, grandson of William & Jane Simmons
but I agree that the fact he has a son George does make me question this.
I've looked again at the censuses 1841-1911 on FindMyPast. The more I look the more questions I have and have concluded that I should follow all Fullers from Worth.
There is certainly more than one Thomas in the area & possibly 2 both married to a Mary.
This was the village of my initial inquiries when looking for Ann Fuller born in Worth 1805 (my 2nd GGM) dau. of William & Jane Simmons.
Thomas (1840-41) is my 1st cousin x3 removed.

Thanks to Mabel & Jon
Thomas' father was Thomas b. 1803 married to Rebecca Rusbriger: baptism 13 Dec. 1840 (Family search)
I have gone through the censuses 1881-1901 (Thomas is widowed in 1911 which would tie in with death of Mary Jane in 1904).
I have now applied for birth certs for Alice & George William as there's a 4 year gap between the 2.
1881 resident at Bay Bush Mill cottage Lower Beediing
1891 78 West Park, Ifield where all the family were given Ifield as they're birth place (lazy enumerator?)
1901 Rotherfield so a little further away in Uckfield which would tie in with place of death for Mary Jane in 1904 and that of Thomas in 1915.

I have not yet looked at the Wales & Tidey births, that's for later!

I've just applied for the birth cert. For the oldest child George William. I originally had doubts about Mary Tidey until Caroline's cert arrived today & her USSD names Thomas Fuller & Mary Tidey. I think I must be patient for more birth certs. To come in. Thank you again for your interest & time.
