South Africa / Info from Bronkhorstpuit area please
« on: Thursday 17 June 10 00:57 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
Have not done any research in South Africa and need some advice on where to find records, or help finding any info on Walter Ducros bn Birmingham c1877

Couldnt find him on the 1901 census and thought it might be a misspelling of the surname.
His wife and 2 children are there.
Found them all plus additions to the family  in the UK on the 1911 census  with one daughter bn in a place listed as
BRONKHORSTPUIT, South Africa bn 1903   Possibly this is where he was in 1901 and his wife Elizabeth and the older children went out later.
They were bk in the UK after this as the next child was bn 1905 in South Shields.
Are there any shipping records or records for Bronthorstpuit, that would place them there and give an inkling as to what he was doing.  In 1911 he`s listed as an Insurance  representive.
Any help appreciated.   Hinton.

Thankyou Janice & Charlotte.

Janice,   I managed to work out what had happened, but not expert enough to bring up the copy, so thanks for sending the original, I will be able to download that one.  Have been going thru the original websites you sent and a lot more data has been added.  Found the writing hard to decipher, it looks like an S beside Margaret making her the sister of Annie with a huge age difference btwn them. Will take it as being an error and Mgt was her mother.

Charlotte.
Thanks for that advice, have had a quick look and will look at it later on.
Thanks again to you both....Hinton

Looking to find particulars from the census on Edith Annie Robinson aged 28 bn Shropshire, and listed as being at Little Hereford in Herefordshire.
If this is the Edith I am looking for her husbands name was George Robinson bn c 1858.
They were married at Tenbury in 1894 and probably have children.
Any help appreciated,
Hinton

The Elizabeth I was looking for was Elizabeth Kirkland who married a Wheale, she was known as Elizabeth or Mary Elizabeth.
