Hello Roots Chatters,

Hoping you can help me out here, trying to find a photo of my mother-in-laws father, having been around the family and turning up nothing, it has been said that there was a regimental photo (the whereabouts now unknown)  I have been on to the Coldstream Guards museum, with no success, So I just wondered if I might be lucky with you guys.

My guardsmans name is James Goodwin No 20524 he was with the 5th Batt. and spent a very short time in the 3rd batt. in 1917.He was posted with the 5th again until his discharge in 1918

I have the service records but if anyone out there has a photo that I can show my mother-in-law so she can identify him, I would be really grateful.

best wishes

Hello

Looking for any info of the movements of the 69th Lt A.A. Regt. Royal Artillery in 1944. My Uncles James Moore was a gunner in that regt. he died of Cerebral Malaria in July 1944 and is buried in Digboi India.
What I would like to know is where that regt did and where they went, where they part of the chindits?
looked and looked for info on this regt doesn't seem to be much out there.
any help I would be grateful for. maybe you were there?

Thanks for reading this post

Hi

While I was researching my RAF uncle I to came across the sad story of the Lancastria, although my uncle was not on the Lancastria, the story is well worth looking at. A book written by Jonathan Fenby called The Sinking of the Lancastria a very good read for anyone interested or researching the second world war, food for thought.

Hi Annie,

Do you live in Liverpool, if so get in touch with Gary Smith at Museum of Liverpool Life. They have files on the Liverpool Reg. If you ring them I am sure they will help, they have special days that you can talk to experts on Liverpool regiments. My cousin and I went to one last April. it was great found out all kinds about our Grandfather, even the day he enlisted. They also have the war dairies there, you may even find him in those.
