She was born in 1857 so that would make her 80 years in 1937.   I was wondering when choker necklaces were back in?

Can some please date this photograph of my great-grandmother.  She lived in Knaresborough, Yorkshire.

Thanks.

Thanks for all the information.  Wow, that's expensive, especially when I convert it to NZ dollars and you could still come up with nothing.

That's what I wondered, did they have to produce the divorce paperwork?  The second marriage was in London just 49 days before my mother was born!

The 1930 marriage to my grandmother says he was divorced from Ethel Eastwood.  I haven't seen the marriage certificate for the first marriage in 1916 as I presumed it was his first marriage.

Can anyone tell me the best place to check out that my grandfather James Colin Campbell divorced his first wife, Ethel Eastwood whom he married in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1916, before marrying my grandmother Alice Maud Carter in 1930.  I have checked on Ancestry but can't seem to locate it and it is starting to worry me.  I have found details of both marriages but no divorce as yet.

Trying to find information on my great grandfather James Campbell born in Ireland approximately 1855.  He married Charlotte Mortimore in Stepney London in 1880 and he died before 1895 because she remarried to Joseph Holdsworth then and the marriage certificate says she is a widow. Charlotte and James' children were Charles Mortimore Campbell born 1881 in London, James Colin Campbell born 1882 at Blair Lodge (where his father was a coachman) in Polmont, Stirling, Scotland and Frederick Gordon Campbell born 1884 in London. Charlotte and Joseph lived in Yorkshire with her two youngest children.  Charles Mortimore went on to become a Hollywood movie actor until his death in 1966 but he used the name Colin Campbell.  My grandfather James (who used the name Colin also) was a stage actor in Yorkshire then London and married my grandmother Alice Maud Carter.  This was his second marriage, his first wife in Yorkshire was Ethel Eastwood.

I am looking for information on my great grandfather born 1864 in Pancras London.  I have ordered 4 birth certificates and still haven't found the right one.  He was a boot maker who married Annie Sweeny/Swinney in  1885.  His parents are William Drake born 1842 and Louisa Bess/Biss born 1840.
His son's (my grandfather) name was William John Drake born 1892. He lost part of his arm in an accident outside Covent Garden when playing as a child.  He spent his life as a one-armed button accordion player busker/street musician because he couldn't work.
