Hi,
Is anyone able to find the birth/christening of Job Coltman and perhaps his death? According to the 1851 census he was born in St Margaret's Leicester, around 1822. I think his parents were Thomas Coltman and Ann Daft, but not certain.
I haven't been able to find any records for a Job Coltman.
Thanks,
Stephanie

Roxburghshire / SORTED THANKS - Job Coltman of Hawick (& Leicester)
« on: Wednesday 21 March 07 02:28 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out about Job Coltman and his wife Sarah Hardy. He was a framework Knitter that came up from Leicester with his family (or maybe just the family came - William, Thomas, John & Job). They came in the 2nd half of the 1800s.
Do these names ring any bells?
Thanks,
Stephanie

Completed Census Requests / Sussex lookup for 1871 & 1891 please!

Please may I have some help? I am looking for George Taylor (born 1833) and his son William (born 1867). Common names, but I have them both in the 1881 census and then they must not be living together.

This the 1881 entry
George TAYLOR Head W Male 48 born Lewes, Sussex Occ: Gardener out of employ
Emily TAYLOR daur U Female 17 Uckfield, Sussex
William TAYLOR Son Male 14 Uckfield, Sussex
1 Vallence Road, Lewes St Ann, Sussex

I am trying to find out who was living with them in 1871 and then in 1891.  I know William became a gardener too.

If anyone can help, it would be great. Thanks,
Stephanie

Technical Help / Problems viewing censuses on Genes Reunited
« on: Monday 19 March 07 15:27 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone had problems viewing the images for the 1871 and 1891 censuses on GenesReunited?
I have an Intel Mac and have been able to view the censuses from 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1901, without any problems, but when I try to look at the results of a search for 1871 or 1891, it whirls for a bit and then comes up with Sorry we have encountered an unexpected error.
All software is up to date. Pop-ups are enabled.
I have tried changing from Safari to Firefox - same result. (In fact, accessing the other censuses doesn't work so well with Firefox and I often get a blank document!) I am completely stumped. I would think that I would either be able to access them all or not any of them. I have been in touch with their support team and they have not been able to come up a solution, though they have had suggestions, mainly for a PC, rather than a Mac.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Stephanie
