Hi Wombat, Romilly and Lynne

When you have pooled your info perhaps you can let us know what you still need to find?

Cheers, Judith

Helllo Judith

Yes, Lynne and I have been, and are, in contact. It appears that Lynne may know more about my family in Australia than I do!

I'm presently sorting data, filling in blanks ....... (I'm sure you know what I mean) ... and will post updates, queries, etc. as they occur.

My very best regards.

Hi-new to Rootschat.  My relative John Bede Campbell married Amy eliza Warren.  They came to Australia in 1919 and brought 5 children.  I have some info on Terence, Amy, Graham Francis, Bernard and maybe Ernest but from your thread I think my Ernest is wrong.  John/Amy had child in Sydney in 1920 (BERYL) who died at 9 months from Gastro.  Theysettled in Bundarra, counry NSW on the land.  John died 1927 by drowning on property.  Amy and children move to Sydney at some stage but gap there but electroal roll info for 1936 on some of these children.  Amy's parents were William John Duffin (overseer) deceased at time of Amy's marriage and her mother was Maria Petty.

Would love to swap all this information but would be too much to be doing via roots chat I think.
I am also wanting any info you have on Warrens/Campbell/Duffin.

Let me know if willing to give me your email address to share this information further.
Cheers
Lynne (Sydney, Australia)

Hi Jenn

I have to confess that I haven't looked for a death notice for something like thirty years, but I didn't have any luck back then.

Hello Jenn

Amy Eliza died on 30 March 1959, and her ashes were interred at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium, Sydney.  I have a strong suspicion that a death notice may not be very forthcoming ........ but, on the other hand, I could be wrong.

On another note ........ have you grown web feet yet?   The rain has only just made it down to us.

Hello All

Annie, thank you ...... perhaps not this one.  Our Ernie didn't have siblings with the names you mention (unless these were brothers and sister-in-law).

Romilly, a pleasure to have you with me - and we actually had some rain today (a cracker of a storm and torrential rain)!

Dee, thank you very much once more ....... and you too Sue.

I'll be back tomorrow.

G'night all .........

Thanks again Dee.

Yes, we have him very well documented from birth up until 1926 in Canada.  After that, apart from Aunty Dot's recollection of him turning up in Australia, nothing.

Hello Sue

Thank you very much.

Certainly a possibility, although the mother's name is a bit off the mark.

Having said that, it appears young Ernie was none too impressed with his Mum.  Firstly for "getting rid of him" to the NCH, and, secondly for disappearing to Australia without telling him (he wasn't sent to Canada until 1923).

Also, perhaps the person who notified the death may have been unsure of her name (assuming this was "my" Ernie).
