Elizabeth was only a Wheale by marriage and unfortunately had died, this being the reason she wasn`t on the census.

Hello Chilis,
Thankyou for the details on Wm.  I dont think because of the age difference he is mine.
His Mother was deceased. I think because of the family names there its more likely he could be a cousin.   I appreciate your help.  Hinton.

Annette,
Great news.
Google Maxmillian Kligner and all will be revealed abt Margarets life and that of the Klingners.
Click on Family Trees Genealogy site.
Apparently her Dad came to Oz, so u maybe able to get some more info on him in yr country
Margaret was bn Quarrington, Co. Durham, so u could get the Parish Registers and check whether or not she had any siblings.
Won`t say any more about what you`ll find, except,,,, I wish I was as lucky to have such a find.
All the best.
Hinton.

Hello Annette,
Are you able to trace through shipping records her arrival in Australia?
Have you tried looking for her parents in Oz?
It may take some searching but as nothing has been found in the Uk as yet you may have more luck in the Aust records.
All the best,
Hinton.

Thanks for trying.  There were 2 other Williams listed around the same birth yrs as Wm. W.
Only a guess that his middle name being Watson he was the one. Interesting that he was probably boarding, unless he was at another mine.
will keep burrowing.

Hello,
Many thanks.
Thank goodness for the use of family names.
I had a quick check to see if I could find any mining disasters around the time William died.
I am assuming that he too went down the mines.
Your help is much appreciated.
Hinton.

Hello CJL,
As a PS when you have a moment could you do some sleuthing on the 2 stepsons Thomas & William.
on the 1901 census.
Thomas would be bn c1875/76 and William C1879/1880.
It is hard to pinpoint as there are 2 or 3 of each name bn Durham in the timeframe.
Am wondering if the William Watson Oxley I found is Catherine`s William.
Found his death Sept Q 1901 so he should be on the Census.
Thanks,
Hinton.

Hi CJL,
Thanks, I have Catherine on earlier census, and have just gone bk to look at the 81. Catherine unmarried and several grandchildren are with her Mother. I assumed they belonged to Catherines siblings but it would now appear that two of them are hers and were illegitimate.
Thanks for the offer.
Hinton.

Yes please.  The more info the better. Have been looking up births for the stepsons and have found a birth for a Thomas Watson Oxley covering the time frame of the one on the 1891 census.
It also raises the question were they illegitimate or had Catherine been married previously.
