Sorry for delay in replying.  I second Jim's comments - with all the info you have I would agree the two George Mitchells are one and the same fellow.

In 1822 banns were read in Kirkheaton (St John the Baptist) for John Mitchell and Ann Clough on the 7th July and on the 14th July. There is a note that on the 14th Ann Clough was taken out of church by her father and the third reading did not take place. Going by the 1841 census Ann would have been under 21 in 1822.

At the same church John Mitchell bachelor of this parish and Ann Clough of this parish were married by licence on 11th June 1824. Witnesses were Ephraim Kilmuir and Eli Oldham. Kirkheaton is about 3 miles from Almondbury.

I haven't yet found a marriage for Ann (Clough) Mitchell to a Whitworth.

Food for thought!

1841 in Blagdon, Almondbury:
James Clough 55 Fancy weaver not born in county
Elizabeth Clough 55 not born in county
Elizabeth Clough 15 born in county
Jane Clough 15 born in county
James Mitchell 15 born in county
George Mitchell 10 born in county
Ann Whitworth 35 born in county
Betty Whitworth 5 born in county
Livinia Whitworth 3 born in county

This would seem to tie the two families together again. So although no relationships are given James and George would seem to be grandchildren of James & Elizabeth Clough. Could Ann Whitworth be the mother (remarried) or another of James & Elizabeth's daughters?

Another little gem for you.
Ada Lilian Patterson was born 1871 June 26th and baptised 1871 July 12th at Fort William, St Peter, Bengal, India. Parents were Walter & Jane Adah Patterson. Walter was a private in the 2/19th Regt.
So she was economical with the truth as to her age!!

According to the divorce petition by Mr Bathe - Ada Lillian frequently committed adultery with a chap named Peech. Nisi was granted 11 June 1909 and final divorce on 20 Nov 1909 - no issue to the marriage. The marriage took place 06 May 1899 at the Register Office, Kensington and on the copy of the certificate with the petition Ada Lillian Paterson was 26 and her father was John Walter Paterson occupation Gentleman.

Just filling in a few blanks for you.
