I have come across a mention of a property owned by family in around 1820 potentially earlier and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to go about finding out more information on it, it’s exact location would be a helpful start!
The reference said:
A copyhold and messuage or dwelling house, outbuildings, garden, orchard and about 29 acres of land situated in Northwood otherwise Norwood in the Parish of Ruislip in the County of Middlesex on the border of Hertfordshire, six miles from Uxbridge, three from Rickmansworth, 5 from Watford, 2 from Pinner and about 200 yards from the Turnpike Road leading through Harrow on the Hill and 15 miles from the Metropolis.
The house contains a ground floor, a large dining room and parlour, kitchen, wash house, dairy and larder over which are six sleeping rooms. Detached is a large barn and sundry useful outbuildings a garden and two good orchards with the cloves of arable and meadow land.
(Little orchard, great orchard and homestead, long meadows, ploughed ground, little meadow, upper ley, purchases field, great let, two allotments -tithe free)
Any help would be greatly received
