Hi there sparkle I am rather pleased with your information as it preserves the notion I had that my great grandfather lived in the countryside, my great great grandmother farmed Doweel on the Goldielea estate which is close by . Thank you very much for your response , regards stoop.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Cargenbridge, I have driven past it and from the main road it seems to comprise of new houses. My granfather's family were born and brought up there in the 1890's so I presume Cargenbridge existed then as a hamlet or village. My grandfather was a Kerr so I wonder if any Kerrs remain in the area. Thanking you in anticipation stoop.

My g.g.g.g.g. grandmother was Martha Moffat born in 1728 somewhere in Colvend parish. She married a James Ker around about 1750. Can any one tell me more about the Moffat family of Colvend, thanking you stoop.
