What I have....
Father:- James Lee 1817c
Son :- Thomas Lee 1837c
Possible Daughter:- Emily Ann Lee 1841c

The link Pulford, Cheshire, both son and possible daughter, name this as place of birth. Got to be a close link hey? Pulford is a tiny place outside Chester!!

Thanks in anticipation

US Lookup Requests / Death New York 1825
« on: Thursday 28 April 05 10:43 BST (UK)  »
Thank you for looking.

In our family bible 4xGt Grandfather William May married Hannah Blezard at Childwall Church, Cheshire Uk June 1814. The next entry regarding him is 'the above William May died in New York June 1825 aged 33'.

There is no other info, how did they find this out as the bible was only started in 1890, I suppose word of mouth?

Any help gratefully received

Galway / Robert Edward Allured Sawyer b 29/12/1890 (Galway?)
« on: Thursday 28 April 05 10:08 BST (UK)  »
This is my husbands Grandfather, of which we know very little!

We believe he is one of a twin, both boys supposedly ran away from home aged 15, Roberts brother is believed to have gone to Canada and joined Royal Canadian Mounted Police. When they wrote to one another they addressed 'Dear Allured' and signed 'The Other Allured'. Presumably they both had Allured in there name.

Robert married in Lincoln Registery Office in 1917 he was a Sergeant 2nd Lincolnshire Regiment. His father Robert Pizzie Sawyer occ a Gentleman.

Not much I know but any help or ideas greatfully appreciated

Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1851/61 Census Look up, Lancashire (Bennison)
« on: Thursday 28 April 05 09:10 BST (UK)  »
Hi Thank you for looking.
I am trying to find the Bennison family. Especially Joseph, I know he comes from Yorkshire but which area. I'm taking a guess hes moved to Lancs as his daughter Ann marries there in 1863.

Joseph marries Hannah Scarrow in 1822, Cockermouth, Cumberland.

Here they are in 1841-
New Lowther St, Whitehaven, Cumberland
Joseph Bennison  35  (looks like) Publican  No
Hannah  36  Y
Dorothy  16  F.S  Y
Jane  14  Y
William  12  Y
John  8  Y
Joseph  4  Y
Ann  1  Y

Joseph (senior) was born in Yorkshire (1800), in 1863 (daughters marriage cert, in Liverpool) he's a Warehouseman. In 1871 census(Lancs) he is 70, mar, no occ, born Yorkshire.

His area of birth eludes me. Apparently there are alot of Bennisons in the Yorkshire area, so until I can find an area I'm stuck.

Thank you in anticipation

Hi ,
Ann Elizabeth Bennison, was born 1840c, Whitehaven, Cumberland. I am trying to find her and her family, especially her father Joseph Bennison (1800). On the 1871 census he was with his daughter in Lancashire, his birth place was stated as Yorkshire. (A big county) I am trying to narrow this down. On Ann's  marriage cert his occupation is stated as 'Warehouseman'. Many thanks in anticipation. Libby
