My GF was in the 6th IDG during the Zulu wars. I got masses of info (17 pages) from the QDG Regimental Museum in York. They don't have individual's records, unless they are mentioned in the diaries as those records are in the national Archives. They just ask for a small donation

It being such a beautiful day (for a change) so I went and had a look. A massive burial ground of about 4 acres. Burials are roughly in chronological order but I couldn't find a single Morris never mind John Osborn. A lot of spaces and a few fallen stones. According to a notice board te local poor used to bury their dead unofficially at night which might explain some of the dog legs in the rows You could try writing to the vicar, they may have a burial register but I did notice that there are no plot markers or row numbers so wouldn't be easy to find unless they have a plot map. If you find out more I'll happily have a look for you.

OS map 1933 6" to the mile shows a "Beach Lawns" house at the Lancing side of the junction between Ferry Rd and Beach Rd/Old Fort Rd just west of the then lifeboat house
