sailed on the ship Campania from Liverpool.

Thank for posting.  Looks as though I will have to visit PRONI someday, then.  William Harper Lepper had married into the Macaulay family, although his family's business concerns were located in Belfast.

Helena and John,
Many thanks.  It seems that I missed quite a few of James Robinson's children.  It is also interesting how the name Letitia keeps poping up.  Was that a common name back then?

For example, from Ellis Island records:
1904--Robert Robinson from Ballyclare, aged 36
Letitia, wife, aged 30
Mary Ellen, aged 3
Letitia, aged 1
Friend listed as being William Beckett of Philadelphia

Others from that area:
Margaret Beatrice Gardner, b. 1886; dau of Andrew Gardner of Ballyalbana; dressmaker; aged 20 in 1906; living in Minnesota.

My grandfather:
George M. Robinson, from Ardymaugh; arrived in U.S. 16 Mar. 1899 on board the Teutonic from Liverpool; occupation, farmer; passage paid by William Dodds; destination Mount Morris, New York.

Other immigrants:

Joseph Queery McCauley; from Glenwhirry; arrived U.S. 1909, aged 34; Mt Morris ?, New York.

Alexander Gillespie and Thomas McCauley, aged 21, farmer Ballyalbana; they join friend James Thompson in U.S.  Alexander had previously worked at Ballyclare paper mill.

I am not sure if I can help, but I have done research on John Macaulay, the Town Clerk of Levengrove who was related to the Dixon family.  The Macaulays seems to be equally as mysterious...Paul

I was able to trace this family up until 1893.  At that time, I believe that the last male heir of this family passed away in Dublin.  Almost all members are buried in Layd Parish.

After that I would imagine that their estate was sold with the heirs...Lepper, Fitzgibbon, Dobbs, and Higginson...receiving their fare share of the proceeds.   Does anyone know how I could find out if their were any Macaulays left that received some money as well from the sale of the estate which in 1879 included Glenville House and over 2,000 Irish acres?
Thanks, Paul

So far, in my immediate family I have the Robinsons marrying into the McCauley and Topping families.  However, I understand that one member related to this branch of the family had as his middle name McGladdery.  This Robinson was better known as the Bard of Ballyalbanagh.

Christopher,
I have heard that some stones or memorials in the church may show macaulay families that were armigerous.  Do you know how I can find out which Arms these families used?  Would like to see if they are the same Arms that were used by the Ardincaple family of Dumbarton, Renfrewshire, Scotland.
Thanks, Paul
