Lancashire / Re: Before '1837' Garsden/Heap - Lower Darwen/Blackburn

Hi Gerry,

Here is a link to the Burial links for Lancashire

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10215.0

If you scroll down you will see Burnley.

It is great news that you are not too far away as it is worth you going having a browse at the local Family History libraries. I have had some real "finds" by trying to locate old transcribed parish records which are not always available but it it is a very old church then there is a bigger chance of something being available.

I found one for Macclesfield Cheshire Lurking in Salford Library so sometimes you have to do a bit of a browse  !

Best of Luck

Sarah ;)

Accomodation

If you require accomodation for the Saturday Evening, we are going to book in at The Ward Arms Hotel

The Ward Arms Hotel
Birmingham Rd, Dudley,
West Midlands DY1 4RN
 Tel: 01384 458070

It looks as if it about 1 Mile away from the Black Country Museum. I gave them a call, group rates are £40.00 per night for a double room or £55.00 for Bed and Breakfast (This is a group Rate). They have a bar and also a Cavery for the Saturday evening at £8.95 per Head. They Currently have 50 Rooms free.

If anyone knows the area it would be of great help to find a suitable place for us all to meet with nice cup of tea while we wait for everyone to arrive. (Just incase anyone is on the last minute with traffic )

Then think forward to the following questions.........................

Were they to be found on the census? Possible look-up in Census?

What trades were the family involved in ? Possible look-up in Directories ?

Homes addresses, if still standing would a photograph be of help ? possible request for a picture ? This is little used but this information speaks volumes !!!!!

To get the best response it always best to think of a good subject matter as people are first quick to repspond to areas they know well or live in. Then link it with a name which would then include those researching those names and possible connections. Finally a year is usefull as some people have access to information for an area for a certain time period.

something like..

Thomas Blade, Dudley 1883

The result could possibly be 3 Types of information !!!!
