Do not exspect anyone to read through all this posting again but thought you would like a final update. I ordered the death transcript of Jane Low who died 1945 Granville. Sure enough she was first married to a George Hood, no other details than that other than the issue of that marriage was another George Hood living aged 52. She then appears to have married a ?? Grieve, no issue and then married a Thomas Low in 1925. This now confirms to me that the two Georges are father and son as George the sons death record records his mother as Jane Low. Her parents  are shown as Charles and Mary Ann Golding, confirming marriage to George senior.

If anyone can find a marriage of a Jane Golding/Hood/to a Grieve anywhere would like to hear.

Many thanks to Cando and Crazy Robert for info and comments received through pm's.
I am going to put on hold this posting and order the marriage cert of William and Ivy in 1913. This will confirm if it really is my man. If positive, then all other facts will fall nicely into place.
One little piece of my own research in all this. When Ivy May Hood died in 1965 her parents were recorded as Charles and Sarah H. The only birth I can find of an Ivy May to a Charles and Sarah is "TAYLOR" in 1878, no Cuthbert--had she married before, does not appear to have done in NSW.

Will keep every one posted. Off now to purchase a secondhand car as old one done in, think of the certificates I could have bought!!!!

Firstly thanks for overnight efforts on my behalf.
I know in the past I have sometimes gone astray or got things wrong with postings and apologise for that. On this occastion I tried very hard to report correct facts before posting to save any unnecessary wasting of your time and efforts which believe me I value a great deal. My family tree in Australia has been greatly enriched by many of you.

On this posting I have never mentioned about being in contact with family decendents of Roy Henry George Hood and do not have contact. Roy I believe going by the Ryerson died in 1987. As to whether he was in the army once or twice at this point does not worry me too much. Whether he divorced I cannot say, but if ANNECAROLINE in one of her postings has read the notice for the correct Roy Henry George Hood died aged 68 who's wife was a Margaret then it looks like he may well have done. My thinking for that is Roy was 68 = birth year 1919 when he died and when Roy recorded his fathers death in 1969 Roy puts his own age as 50=1919. Again not a proven fact but not unreasonable.
I have to confess however I may be wrong with the Joyce death in 2005 as has been pointed out it does not record her as Joyce Diasy. I think I came to this assumption as she was 20 when she married Roy in 1938 = a birth year 1917/18 and her death aged 88 in 2005= 1917/18 but again no proof.
If you feel I am in any way misleading or wrong in the way I post please advise-will not be offended in any way.

Sorry been away all day, and thanks to everyone who has posted. I can comfirm the Roy being discussed is ROY HENRY GEORGE HOOD who died 1987. He married Joyce on the26.11.1938 and is the son of George Hood and Ada. It would appear that because I cannot order death certs after 1977 I will have to try and get a look up from the ryerson.

Thanks for finding Elizabeth Harriets birth date, and the headstone-that was a really nice finding. With regard to Albert Edward, the marriage in 1890 would have made him only 7 years of age. The death in 1914 is of an Albert Ernest Hood born 1880 in NSW where as my Albert was born 1883 in SA. Any further ideas or thoughts on this elusive character?
