Hi
Do you have a Sarah Palmer born 1841ish in Soham?
I have Charles Beckwith born 1838 Soham and thought he may have married a Palmer. Charles and Sarah moved to Marske 1871 census & Liverton 1881 onwards and have a nephew Jonathan D Palmer born 1872? living with them in 1891.
Thanks in anticipation!

I am descended from the Gilpin line (william) who married an Airey in about 1375 and have some info on their descendants. There is a website http://edenlinks.rootsweb.com/1gp/KENDALWARD/KENTMERE/KENHIS1.HTM which may be of interest to you.

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Guisbro Lookup

Hi
This is my first post here so bear with me! I don't have 1841 details for this family but can give you some info.
This wasn't Elizabeth's first marriage (was married to William Garbutt) chn were Mary Ann b. 17 Sep 1812/ch. 18 Sep 1812 Guisborough and Elizabeth ch. 27 Aug 1814 Guisborough. The two visitors were Mary Ann's sons by John Watson m. 11 Feb 1836 Guis d. Jun 1840 or Jun 1845. Mary Ann died Jun 1847. The boys details are William Garbutt Watson ch. 2 Oct 1837 Guis. John Watson ch. 16 Feb 1839 Guis.
Elizabeth (1786 Easington) married Richard Askew 15 Jul 1826 Guis. Their eldest son Richard Garbutt Askew was ch. 7 May 1827 Guis. William is listed on the 1851 census. Richard was in York (5 Spurriergate) working as a linen drapers assistant. He married Margaret Ann Bower? (b. 1838 Glaisdale) 10 Sep 1855 Guis. and was your ancestors father. In 1861 Richard and Ann are visiting the Hartley family.
Richard's father was ch. 17 Nov 1801 Guis and parents were Robert Askew and Elizabeth. I have some details on their other children too.
Out of interest, it's my husband who is descended from this line Ada Askew is his great grandmother. Funnily enough I lived in the farm next door to Scugdale as a child.
Hope this is of help.
