Mayo / McEvilly - Mayo?
« on: Wednesday 14 October 09 14:01 BST (UK)  »
Martin McEvilly b 1902 son of James McEvilly worked as a plasterer in Willesden, England in the 1920s/1930.  He married an aunt of mine in 1932 but the marriage was annulled.  He was kept a secret from the younger end of the family and I only found out after the aunt died in 2000.  Despite all efforts nothing can be found of him after the 'divorce' paper in 1938 - there doesn't appear to be a death record in England.  Maybe he returned to Ireland?  Does Martin McEvilly, son of James McEvilly mean anything to anyone. Grateful for any clues.

My gt grandfather Patrick Mulhearn came to work in the mines in Barnsley South Yorks in 1868.  He was from the Foxford area.  On the Barnsley 1871 Census it shows a James Reddington age 28 born Ireland lodging with them in Low Valley.  The houses were on the doorstep of the old Darfield Main Colliery.  Any use?
