Radnorshire / Roger Prosser and Mary Lloyd
« on: Sunday 06 November 05 23:23 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find the parents of Roger Prosser.  He was born around 1825 in Llandilo, Radnorshire I think.  In the 1861 and 1871 census he shows up in Llanfrynach, Brecon.
Mary seems to change her age quite a bit and I have found a difference of 10 years but I think she was born around 1820 in either Llaneclives or Gwenddwr or Loreen Brecon.  I think her father may have been Rhees Lloyd of Crickadern, Brecon who was born around 1791.

I have really hit a brick wall with Roger and could really use some help.  Thanks for any offerings   ???

Somerset Lookup Requests / James FRY and Mary Ann BETTY
« on: Sunday 06 November 05 23:06 GMT (UK)  »
Is anyone else doing research on this family?  James and Mary were both born in Milverton, Somerset.  James parents were Thomas FRY and Ann Harriet BARNES.  Thomas was a farmer and ran FRY'S FARM in Milverton.  James and Mary were married in 1844 in Milverton.  I have 2 children for them so far - James born 1844 and Elizabeth 1846.  Then they seem to disappear.

Can anyone offer help?

Thanks Kay

Somerset Completed Lookup Requests / Samuel FRY
« on: Sunday 06 November 05 23:03 GMT (UK)  »
I am trying to find out what happened to Samuel FRY.  He was born around 1831 in Milverton, Somsert to Thomas FRY and Ann Harriet BARNES.  He appears on the 1841 and 1851 Milverton census as an ag. lab.  Family story has it he went off to the Crimea and died there.  Any help as to how I can find out if this is true or what happened to him?

Thanks Kay

Can anyone help with this family?

Isaac was born in 1855 in Milverton.  His parents were Isaac Fry (of Milverton, Somsert) and Ann Budd (also of Milverton, Somerset). In 1877 in Wales he married Sarah Ann Moses (born ~ 1858 in Lisvane, Glamorgan).  In 1881 census they are in Gelligaer, Glamorgan, in 1891 and 1901 Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan.  Their children are Louisa, Annie, Lilian and Elsie - all born in Glamorgan.

Can anyone help with more information on this family please?

Thanks Kay

Monmouthshire Lookup Requests / Isaac FRY
« on: Sunday 06 November 05 22:57 GMT (UK)  »
I need help finding the family of Isaac Fry.  He was born in Milverton, Somerset about 1826.  His parents were Thomas FRY and Ann Harriet BARNES.  In 1850 in Somerset he married Ann BUDD  (born about 1826 in Milverton).  They appear in the 1881 census in Llantarnum, Monmouth with their children John, Isaac, Mary and James.  Isaac senior is a brick layer.  In 1891 Isaac and Ann are still in Llantarnum.

John was  born in 1852 in Milverton (no further information).

Isaac was born in 1855 in Milverton.

Mary was born in 1869 in Llantarnum, Monmouthshire - no further information.

James was born in 1871 Llantarnum, Mon. - no further information.

Can anyone help with more information on the FRY family please?

Thanks Kay

Somerset Lookup Requests / Thomas FRY m. Ann Harriet BARNES 1820
« on: Saturday 03 September 05 16:41 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to find out any information about Thomas FRY born around 1789 in Milverton, Somerset who married Ann Harriet BARNES born around 1789 also possibly Milverton.  They married in Milverton in 1820 and I have them with 5 children:-  James 1820, George 1822, Abraham 1825, Isaac 1826,   Samuel 1831.

I think James married Mary Ann BETTY.  Isaac married Ann BUDD.

Abraham joined the military and was sent to Barbados where he met and married Margaret Ann WESTON and they moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia.  I am not sure if George and Samuel married but it is believed they died in the Crimean War.

Family in Nova Scotia said they thought the Thomas ran a farm (Fry's Farm) in Milverton but I have never been able to find this on a census although Thomas seems to be an ag lab but not a farmer.

I would appreciate any information re census, BMD, military records or advice on how I may go about finding these.  Hope this is not too much.

Very grateful, Kay

Canada / Re: LANCASHIRE TO CANADA - how to find
« on: Sunday 28 August 05 22:25 BST (UK)  »
Thanks JJ

The web site is quite fascinating.  I did consider that she could be a war bride.  I don't know if Jack Rowley is on there or not as unfortunately apart from him marrying my relative Annie Vernon Harper, him making furniture, living in Hamilton, Ontario in the 1950s and dying in the 1960s I have no other information on him.  I have tried to get a death certificate but they said I needed more information.  I will keep trying.

Thanks Kay

Hi Rob Macadie

My husband's snd great-grandfather was James Harrold Weir, son of William Weir and Catharine Malcolm.  I would be very interested in any information you have on either of these families (and also photos).

Thank you in advance, Kay Prosser

Hi Sarah

I have been on vacation so please forgive the gap in responding.  I have very little information on George Weir other than he was born in 1841 and possibly died in 1918.  I would be delighted to have any information you have on him and other members of the family.  If you would be interested I could send you what little I have on them also.

Looking forward to hearing from you, Kay
