Thank you Gadget and Mudge for your guesstimates, and your warm welcomes.
The photo is of the family 'firm' started by my g.grandfather circa 1890 (based on census returns).....1881 he was a weaver, 1891 a weaver AND cab proprietor, and 1901 cab proprietor, 1901 census his sons were all working for the 'firm'. My g.grandfather was born in 1840, and died in 1913, I know he's on the photo, but am unsure which of the two older men are him, if he's the elder of the two, I cannot think who the top hatted man could be, as his son's were born 1869 (died 1900), 1875, 1877, 1879 and 1884. The person who knidly sent me the photo is the g.grandaughter of the son born 1869, unfortunately although the photo has been in her family's possession 'for ever' she is unable to put names to the faces. Her grandfather was born in 1890, and we did wonder if the youngest boy was him, listening to your opinions this seems unlikely, the only other boy in a family dominated by 'female births' was born 1900, and he is looking the most likely.
Thanks again..........much appreciated.
Happy New Year to both of you.
