Lancashire Lookup Requests / 1861 Name Index - Benjamin Bassett
« on: Tuesday 16 November 04 15:51 GMT (UK)  »
I am looking for:

Benjamin Bassett born about 1813,
wife Mary born about 1819

and children including
Ann Maria (1838),
Robert (about 1842)        } Possibly twins
Thomas (1842),               }
Sarah Jane (1856),
Albert Thomas (1859).

In 1859, they were living at 19 Edmund Street, Toxteth Park West Derby, but may have moved to Manchester/Salford area by 1861.

(NB There was another Benjamin Bassett, living in Bury at around this time, but his wife was Richmal)

I'd be most grateful if someone could find them.

John Dickins      20     (Can't read occupation, looks  something like Throwster)

Lancashire / Re: 1841 Lancashire Census CDs

Someone sent me a copy of some pages of Pendleton, Salford from the Stepping Stones version. They were so faint - almost blank - completely useless.

I have just looked at the same pages on the S & N version. Some of the entries at the bottom of each page are quite dark but most of the names are perfectly legible.

Warwickshire / Birmingham - St Jude's Church
« on: Tuesday 09 November 04 16:59 GMT (UK)  »
I have a certificate for a marriage in 1877 at St Jude's Church in the Parish of Birmingham, after banns.

The only St Jude's I can find appears to be a Roman Catholic church.

Does anyone know where St Jude's was in 1877? The certificate gives no clue to the area, the residence box contains only "B"

Thanks

Could someone possibly look at 8 Victoria Terrace, Crumpsall, Cheetham, Manchester in the 1841 census.
I am looking for Benjamin Bassett and his family, who I know were at that address in November 1842.

Thanks
