Lancashire / JOHNSON family Fir street, salford
« on: Thursday 16 September 10 21:59 BST (UK)  »
hello
looking for any info on my great great aunt, margaret johnson, born margaret baldwin, burton ,westmorland,1880, married Joseph edward johnson ,born manchester abt 1886,          married in burton ,1908,     ,joseph's address on the marriage certificate at the time was 73 bath? street ,Hulme, manchester and he was listed as a warehouse clerk ,
thay were living in burton on the 1911 census but by 1919 were living in 73 fir street, seedley ,salford, and seemed to live there until at least 1929 when joseph gets a mention in kelly's directory as a salesman ! thats the last mention i can find ,so no idea of death dates etc and with quite a few johnson's and people with similar names around the same time in the same place it can get quite confusing :-\
josephs father was also called joseph and was listed as a joiner on the marrige cert. also listed as deceased by then.
and finally when my mother was young, late 1930's ,she remembers a couple coming up to visit from manchester,to see her grandad, she was sure they were jewish?? (they did marry in burton c of e church??) and by then had something to do with a furniture buisness? :-\
so any info would be appreciated...thanks wayne

Canada Lookup Request / death or marriage for miles BALDWIN
« on: Saturday 11 September 10 22:54 BST (UK)  »
Hi, bit of a long shot but im looking for info on my great great uncle, miles baldwin, born 1888 in burton ,westmorland ,england, son of john baldwin and margaret baldwin.
he moved to canada in 1912 aboard the Teutonic ,arriving at nova scotia,
he joined the canadian experditionary force ,reg no 102829,in sept 1915,[interestingly putting his birth date as 1886?,maybe needed to be older?]   and was involved in WW1,
in 1919 was located at the kimmel park camp in wales ,where the canadian soldiers were waiting to be shipped back home, and the last info i have is in 1919 ,sailing no 77 from kimmel park back to canada, and states his residance as vancouver[weather this was the regiment home or his i dont know?]
so any death or marriage info would be great ,infact anything concerning post 1919
thanks wayne

Australia / look up death lily DOCKER bundaberg
« on: Saturday 11 September 10 12:30 BST (UK)  »
hello,
i am interested in finding out the death date for my great great aunt, lily Docker in bundaberg queensland.
She was born lily baldwin, in burton, westmorland, england in 1887,daughter of john and margaret baldwin
emmigrated in 1919 and married Aaron james docker[who was also from burton originally, born there 1890,died 1933 bundaberg, but had emmigarated earlier and been in the aust. army in WW1] in 1920 in bundaberg., they originally lived at fairymead then on the 1930/1954 electoral rolls it has the address as goodwin street bundaberg and the last info i can find of her was the 1959 electoral roll which has her at 12 ford street bundaberg.
They may of possibly had a child,Ernest albert docker, born abt 1921,one of the children i believe was involved in the bundaberg serum tragedy but survived ,1943 electoral roll has him at 12 ford ford street and the 1949 has him at burunda ,griffith, queensland, but nothing after that.
would be extremley thankful for any info as i can not find anything about her death
thanks. wayne
