My husband went to Gordano School too- the first Comprehensive in Somerset. I passed the 11 plus in 1968 and went to the Grammar School in Weston-s-Mare...which became a  comprehensive in Sept 1971 by merging with the local Secondary Modern ...by the following year, all schools in the area were comprehensive.

Glad it's been found!

Enjoyed my trip down memory lane yesterday even though it was a wild goose chase!

Well...after reliving my youth" walking" over Clifton/Durdham Downs , maybe it's not Bristol after all. Brought back some nice memories though!

I don't know Cheltenham or Leamington at all...so will keep checking in to see if it's been identified...off for wine and pizza now...just like when I was a student, but better wine !

Still searching...Clifton Down Road looked hopeful...but not quite!

Realise now that I must have walked miles when I was a student!

I was a student in Bristol....at the moment I'm virtually walking around the Downs!

Westbury Park Road rather than near Zoo looks like the photographs...but can't match it exactly so far!
