Northamptonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Paston/Dogsthorpe Parish registers "BURBIDGE"
« on: Sunday 11 December 11 13:24 GMT (UK)  »
Thankyou very much GEOFF,
I did find alot of the names mentioned after posting, but a few i did not have.

I too have been looking at Ann EDIS, she was from Huntingdon as far as i can tell, William Burbidge's son John Burbidge married a Jane Shivers in 1849 in Thorney, as i recall and they had a daughter Mary jANE. Jane died a few days after her birth from pnuemonia, I have John as aged 22 in 1851 census there living with her parents Thomas Shivers and Elizabeth.

on that he says he was born in Dogsthorpe c 1828, on marriage cert his father William listed as dead.
I had also looked at a marriage between william burbidge b1792 to a Mary Hipwell/hifwell,
thankyou so much appreciate your help
cheers Joanne :)

Lancashire / Re: Elizabeth & Thomas PINNINGTON

;) Thankyou for the census info, I still dont know why Elizabeth if remarried would not have her children with her....but then it is a possibility, it seems that children did leave home early or were in work houses,  cheers Joanne

hello , have been trying to discover what may have happened to the children of Elizabeth Stringfellow & Thomas Pinnington ...can not find anything???????apart from my Henry Crowther, have been looking at the middle names of the childen trying to fit them to relatives and think i have achieved most bar : Atwood & Crowther, well STRetch could be a sister of Robert ,the father of Thomas Pinnington bp  1790,maybe???
I have KENYON as paternal grandmother, Taylor as Maternal grandmother,
Does anyone have any info on Robert Pinnington ??? i have George as his father him being bp 2nd Aug 1761 Hawkeshead i do not know if this is correct..is it close to St Johns St peter lancashire????

can anyone make a connection with Atwood, Crowther, i believe that the STRETCH, is from Elizabeth Pennington(Pinnington) whom married Thomas Stretch?, they have a thomas Pinnington Stretch bp 1820 st Peter married 1847 Clithero, the first child i have foubd for them was a Thomas also,he was bp 1805 St Nicholas Liverpool as their other children so there is a bit of a gap., I mention this family as i have a feeling they are connected to my Pinningtons just have to discover how, perhaps they will lead me to the siblings' of Henry Crowther which in turn will help to know what happened to Elizabeth Pinnington nee Stringfellow..

If anyone has any ideas, facts or advice i would appreciate cheers & kind regards Joanne

« on: Wednesday 19 October 11 07:21 BST (UK)  »
wow...you could be onto something here as i was just looking in my file and as mentioned earlier i found a Johan Wressel estimated birth c 1842, age 22, Port of departure: OTAGO, Port of Arrival: Sydney NSW, voyage arrival 21 January 1864 Vessel Name : MARIAN ORIGIN location : Foriegn
That is all i have?....
it was New South Wales Unassisted Immigrant Passenger.... ancestry library...I actually dont have ancestry i usually go to the library, i have had this awhile but couldnt fit it with the Queen of India could not find the Queen of India coming to SA...and didnt connect it as the hospitaal record said that John Gehan had been in the colony for 15 years this was in 1876....but it also states he was 32 years of age????a labourer living Hoyles Plains which fits with all the infio i have on the family in SA...

Thankyou kindly Joanne :D
