CaroleW, thanks for your comments. I'm attempting to find the places where my family stayed whilst on holiday from Liverpool.
I know about Visitor Lists in Victorian Newspapers but dont know how far those continued.
I had found 2 Street Business Directories for Douglas around 1890's but no later ones.
I had been told the 1939 Register records for IOM had been lost, If tjhats not the case would I be able to find 1939 records at the Museum in Douglas together with Voters List coveing late 1930 thru to early 19550's
Thanks again for your ideas.

As soon as the 1921 census became available i found yet another twist into my relatives movements .
In 1921 they took a well earned holiday on the IOM staying with Mrs Edith Quaggin at 5 Crosby Terrace.
Can anyone help identify the location of their guest house ?
Any help or suggestions welcomed.

The Common Room / Re: History of Pubs in Liverpool

The main Library in Liverpool should have a record of your pub
[3rd Floor Central Library
William Brown Street
L3 8EW] .
When I was researching 'our pubs' each record book for year 18XX listed the pub by name & address then detailed the licencee and any fines breaches etc.
Best to contact the Library to check record books are available now Covid rules are easing

To my surprise the FindMyPast site has a 50% off offer for their Premium subscription open only to 6th of this month. £156 down to £80 billed as single payment, dont forget to cancel auto renewal and save their email
A pop up ad for 80 years since 1939 Registry.

I may give FindMyPast  a go this winter- have found Ancestry poor for Scottish Records now no longer able to view Census return etc.
