« on: Monday 15 August 05 17:10 BST (UK)  »
The only information I may have is thay she possibly married a William Hobbins  in September 1861. Other than that I have no other details.
If you have any Mary Ann Jones born in Alcester around 1842 I would appreciate any details.

Many Thanks :)

Further to my previous posts regarding this subject I think I have found the maiden name of Mary A Hobbins - it could be Mary Ann Jones.
But now I am stuck with tracing her husband his name was William Hobbins born around 1838 and died sept 1870.
The only William Hobbins I can trace was born in Madeley in Shropshire but he married a Sarah Rolf.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / Briggs Family
« on: Sunday 29 May 05 17:14 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace a John Briggs born 15 feb 1858 in West Ardsley his parents were George Briggs and Susannah Darbyson who died in 1866.
He several brother and sisters - Samuel (born 1868), Elizabeth(born 1856), James William (born 1870) and George (born 1871). Samuel, James and George had a different mother who was Ann Elizabeth nee Jackson.
I have managed to trace John Briggs up to 1901 in the census when he was living at South Parade Morley with his wife Eliza and children Lily, Willie, Annie and Ernest.
If anyone knows what happened to him after that I would be grateful.
Samuel Briggs left for the USA in 1905 and left behind two daughters named Elizabeth and Ethel (born around 1898).
There mothers name was Maria Elizabeth (nee Brown).
Any information regarding these two girls would be appreciated.

Anyone no anything about the surname Topner.
My question relates to a Delilah Nelson nee Topner - she was probably born around 1777 and died aged 81 in 1858.
The surname is uncommon, she lived around the Tilney all saints area in Norfolk, but I can not track anyone else of that name.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

England / HOBBINS - PLEASE HELP
« on: Friday 27 May 05 17:50 BST (UK)  »
I desperate to find out the maiden name of a Mary A Hobbins born around 1841 she married a William Hobbins.
William Hobbins died in Alcester in 1870. They had six children
Harry, Sarah, Eliza, William, John and George.
I would like to find out where she was born in every census she puts down a different place of birth. In 1871 she was a widow, born in Pebworth Worcester. 1881 place of birth Bickmarsh. 1891 she put down married living alone in and born in Alcester. 1901 she was living with her son and was born in Dorsington Gloucestershire.
Although all these places are pretty close to each other
was she really from any of these places.
There was always a rumour in the family that she was of Dutch origin and I can not find any Mary A who married William Hobbins who would fit her. Also in 1861 neither appear on any census.

Any help would be appreciated, I have not sent for any birth certificates of her children as I am not sure whether it would show her maiden name.
