Hi everyone merry christmas,
i am about to throw in the towel on this family as i can not find anything on them.
i have the marriage certificate of john jobson henderson (my grandfather) and thomasina cunningham (my grandmother) on my father's side. they were married in alnwick northumberland on the 31st may 1924. both were 22 years old. they both resided at west bolton alnwick. john's father was robert henderson a fleecer of motor wagaon and thomasina's father was thomas cunningham a gardener. the witnesses were  A henderson and marion henderson.
i have done numerous searches and have come up blank.
can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong
thanking you

Hi Bob,
Thank you for your information it was most welcome.
Yes Sidney Thomas Hobley was my grandfather. He married Dorothy Violet Nobbs in 1927 Easthampstead Berkshire. They have 4 daughters ( one my wonderful mum). His siblings were Laura Hobley, Arthur Hobley, Georgina Hobley, Ruth Hobley and Frank Hobley. Could you send me a PM with you email address. Would like to keep in touch.

The Lighter Side / Re: Your longest lived ancestor
« on: Sunday 27 November 11 09:37 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,
My grandfather was born in 1903 and lived to the ripe age of 104 dying in 2007 Reading Berkshire.
The thing that used to make my mum laugh was he used to say that all his friends were young chaps.
He went from making wheels for carriages, then seeing the birth of the car and unfortunately all the changes in Bracknell Berkshire. My granny died in 1980 so he had quite a few years alone. But he still managed to enjoy his life.

Hi Orpheus,
Thanks for your questions. I will try to answer what i know. My grandfather was Sidney Thomas Hobley and he lived to a wonderful age of 104. Must have been the English weather. He told my mum a few bits and pieces. Yes i have seen the trees on ancestry and a lot of the dates are out. I have ancestry as well but i am doing one person at a time and making sure i get references to back up the facts. Family search has given me some information. As i said i am getting the information then verifying it is the right info. i have family tree maker 2011 and when i am 100% sure the info is right i get my bits of paper and write the info in. But i would be glad of any second opinions and suggestions. I thank you for your help and input. Please keep offering suggestions and opinions.

Hi again,
I have just found a christening record on family search for a Charles Hobly for the 29th May 1735 in Brailes Warwick with the parents listed as Thomas and Martha. What does everyone think? Could this be my Charles? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Orpheus i was told by a family member that Robert was the father, so i am not entirely sure.
