All,
Thanks for the replies. I have not found a record to confirm the grave was marked with a stone. I was hoping to find a memorial to my 2nd great grandfather that I could visit.

I have found a burial record for George Reid buried 23 July 1913 at West Derby Cemetery, Unconsecrated Ground, section 5 plot 282.
However I cannot find any record on the ‘Find a Grave’ site. Could this be because the grave no longer exists or records are incomplete?
Any advice much appreciated.

Cumberland Lookup Requests / George D Miers born Whitehaven about 1885

I am trying to find a birth record for George D Miers born about 1885.
He appears on the 1891 and 1901 with the birth place listed as Hensingham. His parents were Henry Miers and Mary Isabella Dixon.
There are U.S records for a George Dixon Miers born England 4 May 1884 residing San Mateo California.
I hope to prove they are the same person.
Any help much appreciated.

From given age of 75 at Annes death in 1839, she must have been born about 1864 (7 years older than her husband).

Christine,
Thanks for the post.
I’m amazed at the information re Anne Frater’s death at Burnwynd. I have had no joy finding any record of her other than the baptism of the three children. I even paid a researcher at Heart of Hawick who found nothing. Anne is my 4x great  grandmother.
I have considered the John Reid, Isabella Bell pairing but if I remember rightly his place of birth given on the census was Wilton.
Any records you have would be much appreciated.

Thanks Wexflyer,
I checked it out and there looks like there are some records of teachers. Unfortunately I couldn’t search them online.

Thanks Dathai,
His first marriage was to Frances Callaghan on 21 Dec 1842 at St Peters, Dublin. I have no further details for Frances. Their son John James Keane was born 15 Jan 1845 and was baptised at the French Church, Portarlington. I have found one other child from the marriage, Frances Keane born 21 Sep 1843.
